Mina slammed her chess piece onto the board, yelling a checkmate as Bakugou's infatuated gaze turned into shock.
Bakugou sighed and shook her hand, standing up and letting her next opponent sit down in front of her.
The 2-A chess tournament, a thing that has apparently started by Sero challenging Bakugou to a duel, in which Bakugou, being quirkless at the time, decided to make it a chess duel.
Of course Bakugou won, but with time they decided to make a bracket.
In which Denki didn't participate.
Denki sat down in front of Mina and cleaned off the citric acid particles that have accumulated when he ate gummy worms.
"I'm sorry if I'm not the best," Denki said, his look sincere and his voice innocent.
I looked at Denki as he made the first play, being white. Mina responded with her own play and Denki put down one more chess piece before standing up.
"Checkmate," he smiled and went back to his happy gummy worm munching, Mina staring bewildered at the thing she had just witnessed.
"Denki!" she yelled, "you liar!"
He laughed, almost choking on the gummies. He cleared his throat and sighed, letting Mina yell at him in anger.
"How did you even do that, isn't that a move pros use?" she asked, crossing her arms and putting her chin up into the air.
"Yup," he said happily, "Toshi taught me."
I sighed happily, leaning into the couch. Toshi. God I love that nickname only when it comes out of his mouth.
The angry pink raccoon turned to me and stomped, leaning down to stare at me eye-to-eye.
She looked deep into my soul and got less mad.
"No fair," she whispered, straightening her back, "you got to get coached by a past pro."
"Mina I need you to know I was a pro because I needed to be worth enough to be kept alive," I said calmly, the Bakusquad blinked and Mina nodded.
"Didn't they also force you to use your quirk when you were losing?" Sero asked while chewing gum, popping another gumball in because the flavor had already faded.
"Yes, but that wasn't very often," I straightened my back, Denki flopping down next to me on the couch, reaching for the remote and turning away from our friends. "I'm good at chess, but they also taught me shogi."
"You suck at shogi," Denki joked, leaning onto me as he turned on a news channel, waiting for a report on the case he was previously involved in.
"You don't know, maybe I always let you win," I joked back, Denki smiling and nuzzling into my neck, pulling his legs up to his chin.
Mina and Sero put the chessboard away and sat onto the other couch, joining Kirishima and Bakugou on it.
They watched the news in full concentration and Bakugou and I were texting between each other to not bother the others.
Sero and Mina pointed out some false information the reporter said, at some point starting to get mad that only Denki and Kirishima were getting the credit of being work study students.

"Toshi," Denki whispered, snuggling into my chest, making it that both of us were able to be under the blanket.
"Yeah?" I asked, looking down towards him. He had his chin pressed between my man-tits as he looked up innocently.
"Can you come with me tomorrow to go see my sister?" he asked, sniffing after.
"Of course," I kissed the top of his head and rubbed his back, "now sleep."
"Okay," he looked back down, nuzzling his face into the middle of my pecks, "goodnight."
"Night."

Denki's sister fiddled with her thumbs and she tried to avoid eye contact. Denki sighed and tilted his head.
"Rei, look at me please," Denki said, grabbing his sister's hands. She looked up at him with teary eyes and then back down. "You know it isn't your fault, right?"
"But Toshi--" she started.
Me?... No. That's-- that's their older brother's name isn't it.
I looked at Denki, who looked down. "Is that really his name?" he whispered. He was so confused, he looked at me with an apologetic look and I smiled towards him, reassuring him.
"Of course," she whispered, pulling her hands away, "I wouldn't expect you to remember his name," she smiled at Denki, "not after what he did at least."
Denki kicked his feet and looked at the families having picnics on the park hill we were on.
"Don't answer him," Denki whispered, looking back to his sister, "those 5 years were torture. I can't possibly imagine what will happen when Bea leaves him because she realizes what an awful human being he is."
Rei nodded, "I won't. Not until I'm 18 at least."
Denki sighed and smiled, rubbing the top of Rei's head, "attagirl!"
He started up a regular sibling conversation, asking about junior high, any crushes, friends etc.
"Oh by the way, I didn't actually get to meet this purple haired fellah," Rei pointed out.
She didn't, did she.
"Oh," Denki blew a raspberry, pointing his tongue and gesturing his fist as if he's hitting his forehead. He turned to look at me and flattened his hands out so they were pointing at me, "this is Hitoshi Shinsou, my wonderful boyfriend."
"Just here for emotional support, keep doing what you were doing," I nodded at Rei and smiled softly, Rei smiling back at me.
"Well it's nice to meet you," she joked, going back to asking about Denki himself, talking about his work as a side kick and school and such.
Basically the stuff Pops always asks me almost every weekend even though he sees me at school and literally teaches me and Dad is literally my fucking homeroom teache--
