Chapter Six: The End Of A Day

I feel myself slipping out of consciousness and I end up fainting.

Jinx's POV

I catch her when I notice her fainting. "FUCK!" I exclaim as I pick her up in my arms. "Shit ok, I know how to deal with this.." I lay her down on the bed to let her rest and not make it worse. I notice she's breathing pretty heavily, so I go to touch her forehead. "Fuck, she's burning up."

I stand up and look around. "Where the fuck is the kitchen??" I start quickly wandering around the house until I see the door to the kitchen. "Ah there it is." I grab a towel and soak it in water. I quickly run back to her and put it on her forehead to cool the burning. "Please wake up soon.." I look down at her with concern.

1 HOUR LATER - (Y/N)'s POV 

I feel myself gaining my consciousness back. I slowly open my eyes and groan. "W-What happened..?" I look up and I see Jinx looking down at me. "Huh..? Jinx.?" I question. Jinx gasps lightly when he notices I'm finally awake. "Did you take care of me..?" I asked weakly.

Jinx nods his head. "Yes I did sweetheart. You had me a bit worried there. You were heating up badly." I blush lightly. "S-Sweetheart.?" I ask confused. He smiles at me. "Well yes, isn't that what humans call each other?" I look up at him and chuckle at his cluelessness. "Well I guess so hehe.." I answer him.

I suddenly realize how warm it is and notice I've been in Jinx's arms the entire time. I jump off instantly and look up at him. "Eek, w-why was I on you??" I asked slightly shyly. "I wanted to make sure your burning forehead didn't come back, or else that wouldn't be good." He answered as he smiled slightly.

I smile. "You know, all the stories I've heard of demons were scary and stuff. I never expected demons to have compassion and concern for humans or anything. You're pretty cool."

"We are capable of emotions. I never cared for any humans until you came along. You're the only one to be honest." Jinx says to me.

I felt a random wave of dizziness again. "Uh oh.. Looks like I'm not fully better yet.." I think to myself. Jinx quickly turns to me and grabs my wrist as he pulls me to the couch with him. "Eek-" I exclaim out as I look up at him.

"Ah, sorry. I saw you were going to fall again. It's best if you stay seated close to me for a bit longer, just in case you keep feeling sick." Jinx explains. "That rain earlier really must've fucked you up.." "Yeaa.. I've always gotten sick for the smallest things." I say.

I lean on his muscular arm as I close my eyes and try to relax. "You're actually pretty comfy Jinx.."

I slowly drift into my dreams...
