Ashton's feet dragged down the hallway, twisting and winding through it like it was a maze, until his gaze was upon her. He rushed to her side, cautious not to bump the bed as he did so. He grabbed her hand as soon as he was close, and laid a kiss on her forehead, something she had always loved. The memories rushed back as he pulled away from her, and he smiled. The doctor stood behind him, expectant and waiting. "youre really not allowed to be in here for the surgery, but you can be up there" He pointed above him, to the glass room sitting above them. "alright" Ashton nearly whispered, his voice lost from crying the past couple of days. His placed one more kiss on her hand, and left, the feeling of her skin leaving its mark on his, as he longed for more, and exited the room.
His feet scuffed the floor as he walked up the stairs. He wasn't sure he really wanted to watch the surgery but, he did want to keep an eye on her. Pacing the room, the hours ticked by. Every so often his eyes would look through the glass, just enough to get a peak. The doctors hands busy at work, blood covered gloves, his girlfriend laying there motionless like some type of mannequin. " please god let this work" he pressed his hands together and looked towards the sky. Ashton looked down at the right time, to see the doctor glancing upwards holding up a thumbs up. This brought some relief to Ashton, as if ten thousand pounds of bricks had been lifted from his shoulders. But what he really wanted to know was, is this the end of all the complications? Is she okay now? What's going to happen next?
15 minutes passed and the doctor emerged into the room he was in, Ashton somehow still anxious. "shes going to be okay, everything went fine" the doctor placed his hand on ashton's shoulder, and ashton pulled him into a hug, silently thanking him. "she won't be awake for another couple of hours, but she'll be back in the room with the others in a moment" the doctor nodded and left back down to the room she was in, and Ashton made his way back to the room the boys were in. He turned the corner, expecting for all of them to be asking questions, but they werent. Luke had his hands running through his hair as he sat in Ashtons old seat, Michael pacing in front of him. They heard Ashton enter and rushed towards him, but they weren't asking about mady. "where's calum?" Luke spoke up first, almost out of breathe somehow. Michael chimed in "he went to get pizza and he hasn't been back since you left" their eyes filled with worry, and Ashton's heart began to race once again.
