Activity stirred at the end of one of the hallways, and Michael took the lead, following the commotion. they came to a fork in the hallway, just as Stephanie was being wheeled into the ER. "babygirl" he whispered, almost weak. Catching himself before his knees gave out under him, he lurched towards the doctors, fighting towards her. "NO SHES MINE I NEED TO BE WITH HER NOW" he yelled, slamming his fists against the doctors chest before Luke pulled him back to where Ashton stood, frozen in place. Michael stopped fighting, and stood alone with Ashton and Luke in the now empty hallway, further and further away from hope. "no" Ashton's voice cracked as he sat on the floor, his head in his hands. Michael still stood, pacing the hallway as he still fumed with anger, tears streaming down his face as he angrily wiped them away.
Ashton found a seat in the waiting room, the others still pacing the halls. His thoughts swarmed like bees, where was mady? Was she okay? When would someone tell me these things? His eyes scanned every hallway, peering into every doorway hoping to catch a glimpse of his world. " it's all my fault. God damnit" Ashton's hands covered his face, cupping the tears that dropped from his cheeks.
Michael couldn't help but stare at his feet, they were the anchors that bound him to the hallway floor. " why didn't I just pick them up like Steph asked? God damnit I'm so fucking stupid sometimes" he cursed himself. " they're gonna be okay guys. Do you know how bad ass those girls are? They could take us all with their hands tied" Calum laughed, trying to lighten the situation. " not now Calum. " Ashton looked up, giving him a death stare.
Calum sat next to luke promptly. "sorry im late, came as soon as you texted" he rubbed his hands through his hair, anxious for both Mike and Ashton, and the girls. He was the entire reason Mike and Ash were with them, as Cal had been friends with the girls for years before the band. The heavy weight of the situation set on him, and he slunk lower and lower in his seat, hiding from the possibility that they wouldn’t make it.
The hours passed, none of the boys moving an inch, until the doctor arrived. As he walked in, they all popped up with enormous energy, considering they’d been there for 13 hours. He stopped in front of them, prominent bags under his eyes. "which of you is the-" they all rose their hands, and the doctor let out a sigh. "I understand. You can visit two at a time" he stepped out of the way as Michael and Ashton sprinted down the hallway, towards their worlds.
