So much for a first impression.
I made my way to my car, trying to find the nearest store so that I could get this girl a new shirt.
For all I know she might not even be Vixen.
I found a thrift store and got her the smallest shirt I could find. Unfortunately, it was an old grey 'Beetles' band T-shirt and it looked a bit oversized. But it was better than nothing so I made my way back to the shelter and there she was. Sitter with her eyes fixated on her phone. Then she laughed.
"Something funny? " I questioned, hovering over her as I tried to see what she was laughing at.
"Look." She said with a smile on her face. I looked at her phone, there was a slice of bread standing vertically upward, parallel to the wall behind it on the screen. It took a few seconds but the slice of bread dropped and she laughed again.
Why did I even agree to this in the first place? Half a psychiatrist's salary is NOT enough to put up with this crazy mess.
"Uhm, here. " I said handing her the shirt, then she smiled at me and made her way to the restrooms. I have to admit it though. She is beautiful.
I looked at my phone and he first $500 of the 50 grand had already been sent to my account.
That was quick.
A few seconds later, she got out an joined me. She sat on the bench at the other side of the table.
"I'm vixen, by the way. " she greeted, "and I'm hungry, so if you don't mind... " she said, looking at me with child like eyes as she pointed to the food truck.
I sighed. I did dropped her food.
I got up and bought some food and gave it to her. "I'm Cyrus. " I introduced myself as I watched her eat rapidly.
What is her problem?
I started to have second thoughts about this favor I was doing Riley. Vixen finished her food and just say there and stare at me like I was some new undiscovered creature.
"Do you know why you're here? " she asked, taking a sip of her soda afterwards.
"Yes." I answered honestly.
"Okay. " she responded calmly. "What exactly is-" Dr. Prishen didn't tell you? " she interrupted wig a smile on her face.
She really does have a nice smile.
She sighed, "I have a condition. My body produces the androgen hormone in excess causing me to have, how would you say... A whole GUY persona going on.
"In simpler terms, you're here to make me a girl. " She explained taking another gulp of her soda.
"Well, this isn't working out. " I stated flatly as I got up and started walking away from the shelter. Fifty grand isn't enough.
"Wait! " she called out making me stop in my tracks. She walked towards me and held my arm, "I'll behave. " she said and I pulled my arm from her grip.
I don't like being held.
"You can walk on your own. "I said flatly as we began to walk through the amusement park. Be nice, I remembered the instructions saying. I sighed then held her hand, making her smile.
I guess I can try to make this work.
We made our way through the island, trying different carnival games and different rides until eventually it became dark and nighttime came. I checked my watch an it was almost 10PM.
Vixen was looking like a child, hugging a huge teddy bear in her right arm and holding cotton candy with her left hand.
" look!" She said walking towards the beach. She was walking so fast that I almost barely caught up with her.
She was standing at the edge of the water which kept brushing her feet as it moved back and forth, off and on the sand.
I didn't even notice that she has taken off her shoes an finished the cotton candy, hugging the Teddy bear. I took off shoes and stood next to her, following her sight to the Moon's reflection on the ocean.
" My brother would bring me here whenever mum and Dad were.. "She took a deep breath, ".. Were arguing. It was always so peaceful coming here. " she said as she close her eyes.
I continued to look at the ocean when I felt her hold my arm once again. "Thank you. " she said, opening her eyes to smile at me. I just smirked in response. "Let's get out of here, shall we? " I said deciding to take her home..
