My aunt stated like it was a small issue. "What?!" I spoke into the phone, taking my goggles off and stopping target practice in the process, thinking maybe I might not have heard her correctly.
"I need your help. " "with what? " I asked as I leaned against the wall. "A patien-"NO" I put on my goggles and reached for my gun and started moving towards the target area. "Just listen-" NO."
Riley always does this. It's always 'fly here cause I need a favor...' Never 'come visit your family... ' or anything like that. I'm not complaining but it'd be nice to be called for something other than a simple favor.
"Cyrus-" I'm in target practice, I have to go, byee. " I said tapping the side of he earpiece to hang up. It only took seconds for her to call back. I put down my gun once again and slid the goggles up. "What is it?! " I asked agitated about to hung up. "Her names Vixen. " she spoke quickly before I got the chance to.
Her. It's never been a 'her' before. "She needs your help. " she continued, putting emphasis on the your, "She needs a boyfriend. " "What?! " I asked, a bit more flustered. There was no way I was flying all the way to California to date one of Riley's psychotic patients. Like I'm the only guy she can date.
"NO." I was about to hang up. "Please." "How much? " "Half" "Twenty four hours. " "Deal." Then I hang up, wore my goggles and continued to shoot at the dummy board 10 yards away.
It away amazed me how my aunt and I would make petty deals. I'm not evil for making my aunt pay me, am I? I'm just making a few extra bucks. Plus I wasn't planning on going to California, so she owes me.
Vixen, huh. Sounds stubborn.
