It's been a few months since Athanasia was born. I suspected that the adult her had already found herself in her baby form.

I decided that I'll be the one who would take care of her since in the manhwa, Lily is busy enough to not notice the maids' treatment towards her.

I wore the maid's outfit to fit in and not get the other's suspicions. I walked through the long hallways of the ruby palace. It was quite the nostalgia since I lived here before.

I shook my head and proceeded to find Athanasia's bedroom. Her mana is very strong and I'm thankful for that since she lessened my problem.

I finally arrived before the room that radiates more of mana than the others. I grabbed the knob and twisted it open. I pushed the door and saw the baby I'm looking for on the ground.

"Change of shifts, I noticed that you were busy with sewing some clothes. I'll take care of the princess." I said to the maid who's attention is on the dress she's sewing.

"Thank God, the princess is quite troublesome. I owe you for that uh.." I faked a smile at her response.

"Maureen. Call me Maureen." She nodded.

"I'll get going now, Maureen."

She carried the sewing kits and the dress before rushing out of the room. I closed the doors while rolling my eyes a bit. I turned around to the baby and smiled warmly.

"How can they be so cruel towards a baby, the princess."

I said as I made my way towards her then grabbed her small figure. I lifted her up and rested her on my arms. She looked at me with wide eyes which made me giggle.

"If she was here, you wouldn't have had received this cruel treatment. They were so cruel to you, am I right?" I questioned which made her sweat drop and grip onto me.

"I'll take that as a yes."

I lifted her up with my mana, I could tell that she was surprised since her eyes widened and her mouth parted open. I chuckled at her reaction before changing her clothes with the mana.

I made my way towards her crib as I placed her down on it's soft futon. I swung my hand and a bottle filled with milk appeared beside me. I grabbed it and gave it to Athanasia who grabbed it.

"Sleep tight and do grow up right. The world awaits for you to shine and become the light of your father's life. He might've turned into a bastard, but remember that his life had never been fair from the start."

She was sucking her milk while I spoke. I stared into her blue jeweled eyes as she stared at mine. I smiled sweetly at the baby princess before leaning away.

"I wish you well, princess Athanasia De Alger Obelia."

..We're nothing but candles in the wind. We'd be dead with a snap of his fingers.."

"Yeah, why did we have to be the ones assigned here.. Have you heard about the ghost coming out of the kitchen every night?"

"It creeps me out. Who knows we might end up like that, too?"

"Hey guys, you're slacking off. I'll put the princess to sleep, do something else." I barged in which made them flinch and look at me.

"Hey! You're just new and you're already getting too cocky?!"

"I'm not cocky, I'm just doing my job unlike you guys." I walked pass them and grabbed the princess's small body.

"Whatever, the princess won't be able to save you since she's an outcast anyways." Anger filled me and I glared at them which made them shrink.

"All of you are too noisy, you might even influence the princess. Scram."

They just looked at me nervously before leaving the room. I huffed at their behaviors while a bottle of milk appeared beside me. I grabbed it and grave it to Athanasia.

It's been a few nights since I started taking care of her. Everyone except Lily had been so harsh towards her. She might be an adult inside, but her figure is still a baby.

"There they are again, they're so cruel to our adorable princess."

I pouted as she sucked the milk again. I kissed her on the forehead before placing her down on her crib. I grabbed a chair with my mana and placed it down beside her. I sat down and started rocking her crib.

"When you grow up, make sure to make them pay. They're so cruel for making you suffer when you're just a baby." I smiled which made her narrow her eyes at me. I chuckled in response.

Her eyes started getting droopy as I rocked her crib. I smiled when she finally fell asleep. I removed the bottle from her and continued to rock the crib, ignoring the fact that Lily's coming this way.

The door gently opened, but I didn't spare a glance at it since I knew that it was Lily. I finally turned my head around to her when I heard a slight gasp escape from her lips.

"How long has it been, Lilian York?" I questioned with a smile which made her bow a little at me.

"It's a pleasure to meet you again, 2nd magician of the Black tower, Maureen." She stated which made me giggle.

"Do stand up, Lily. We're friends so you don't have to do greet me that way." I said which made her stood up before a relieved smile appeared across her lips.

"I never knew that it would be you, the one the maids are talking about, and the someone who's taking care of the princess. It's been so long since we had a reunion, Maui." I smiled at her.

"It really has, Lily. It seems like you've lost your touch since you haven't noticed the maid's treatment towards Diana's baby." She widened her eyes.

"Had they been treating her poorly?? I'll make sure to talk to them about it. Thank you for telling me." I nodded before looking at the sleeping Athanasia.

"Hey, Lily."

"Yes?"

"Don't tell anyone about my title as the 2nd magician of the Black tower. Just tell them that I'm the princess's nanny."
