"Thank you so much, princess. I personally bought it from the country that sells the finest and the most high quality dresses there is!"

"We should go there sometime!"

"If his majesty lets you."

"Then, let's just sneak out!" I chuckled.

"So, how was life without me by your side?" I questioned with a smile.

"It was alright." Athanasia replied with a nervous smile across her face.

"Is everyone treating you alright?"

She slightly flinched and just nodded which made me blankly stare at her while she sweat dropped. I knew she was being treated so badly since it was drawn in the manhwa.

"Enough about that, does Lucas knows that you've already arrived?" She questioned, knowing that I'll probably deal with those people in the near future.

"No, I actually thought that he'd be here." I lied a little which made her shrug.

"That bastard is always busy." I chuckled at his nickname to her.

"Well, it is hard to manage the Black tower alone. You can't blame him for that." She huffed her cheeks.

"I hoped that he'd at least attend and dance with you tonight." I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Why? It's impossible of him to ask me for a dance. Besides, he's supposed to dance with you since you're the star of the ball." She looked at me very confusedly.

"And why are you still trying to match us together, Maui?" Luckily, I didn't flinch when she asked that. I just innocently smiled at her.

"Was I?" She just shrugged.

I sighed in relief when the 2nd song ended since it meant that Athanasia wouldn't have to pester me to tell her why I'm sticking her and Lucas together. It seems like I've been too obvious with my plans.

I suddenly felt a very familiar chill which caused me scan the crowd. I furrowed my eyebrows when a black figure suddenly disappeared. What's that? Is that Anasticius? I just stared at the crowd until Claude spoke.

"Go ahead." I glanced at the two and saw his arm on her back.

"Daddy, thank you for being with me today.

Thanks to you, I'm going to remember today as a very happy day.

Bye, daddy."

Athanasia disappeared in the crowd of the dancing girls who are also having their debutante to society today. I smiled at how she had grown before glancing to Claude who still has his eyes wide open.

"Look at how much your daughter grew, your majesty. Last time I saw her, she was still an infant that you casted away in the ruby castle. I guess that you hated and wanted to kill her because of Diana's death, but what about now?" He glared at me while I just smiled sadly.

"How impudent your mouth really had become. Do you wish to be executed for treason?" I just sighed and looked back to the crowd.

"Your majesty, what you did to an innocent baby really hurt me. When you left her in a place with no one that's blood related to her, I was upset. Princess Athanasia is your and Diana's precious baby girl. I once thought, had you ever considered what Diana might've felt when you did that to her?"

"You're speaking as if that one is still alive."

"Your words are the cruel ones, your majesty. That one, you're talking about, is the one who gave you a glimmer of hope inside your dark, empty, and wounded heart."

"Watch your mouth, 2nd magician of the Black tower."

"Then, this magician shall leave. Blessings and glory upon the sun of the Obelian empire."

"Phew! I'm exhausted!"

I sighed as I walked out of crowded room. I cooled off myself with a spell and let out a yawn of satisfaction. It's a good thing I left or I would've died from the heat! I heard some steps behind me which made me turn and widen my eyes.

"Lucas?"

I called out to the ruby eyed male who's standing before me. My world seems to have stopped when I saw how gorgeous and handsome he was, wearing a formal attire and not a magician's uniform.

I opened my mouth to speak until he reached out his hand to me. I widened my eyes in shock. My body unconsciously moved and grabbed his hand which made the magician smile. I was 100% shocked at his actions.

"You look so beautiful, Maui."

A sentence that I never thought I'd hear from this man made me freeze on my spot. I didn't fail to notice how my heart pounded so rapidly since my ears can hear it loud and clear.

He pulled me closer while raising my left hand. He placed it on his shoulder before he snaked his arm around my waist. My cheeks lit up because of his small action.

A song suddenly started playing before he started to move. I didn't know what I was doing since I'm too captivated by his eyes that are locked with my purple like colored ones.

We swayed along with the song. He would lift me from the ground and twirl me around the sky without breaking our eye contact. It felt so unreal to the point that I'm wondering if I passed out in the ball earlier and now dreaming about this.

Letting myself be enchanted by his warm and comforting aura. I decided to at least enjoy this dream since I know that in the end, Athanasia would always be the one he'll end up with.

I smiled sadly at him which made him widen his eyes a little. Being bold in my dream, I leaned closer to him and pulled my hands before wrapping them around his neck.

"Too bad, if I could just stay in this dream, I would've slept forever."

I stated before I felt his arms snaking around my waist. He pulled me closer, if that was even possible since we're already so close. I felt his head resting on my shoulder, It's such a dream that will never become real.

I slightly leaned my face away and he did the same. My gaze met his and he met mine. That's when I realized that the happy ending that I wanted, would and will never be mine.

With our eyes glued together, I failed to notice how he started leaning his face closer to mine. I only realized how close our faces were when I unconsciously closed my eyes.

Our lips met.

The only one who witnessed such a moment is the shining moon.
