"..May I come a bit closer?"

I heard Ijekiel asked while he stepped closer to Athanasia. Why is Lucas not here and stopped him yet? The white boy started getting closer and the male I'm waiting to appear, haven't showed himself.

Feeling annoyed, I deliberately showed up behind the princess who looked troubled because of how the heir of the Alpheus house is acting. I grabbed her shoulder and slightly pulled her behind.

"You've intruded enough already, Ijekiel Alpheus. Did you not see how uncomfortable the princess is, because of your actions? Do remember that she didn't grant you any permission, so stop right there."

I said and glanced to Athanasia who looked at me with a relieved expression on her face. I can sense that she was very glad because I stopped the boy. My heart swelled.

"A magician of the tower, it seems? Identify yourself."

He proclaimed which made me raise an eyebrow at him. Now that I've directly interacted with this guy, I can finally realize why Lucas is quite annoyed. Not just because he's trying to get with Athanasia, but because he was acting like his father. Well, they are blood related, after all.

"I do not follow any orders except those which comes from the princess, his majesty and the owner of the tower." I sharpened my gaze a little and pointed at the boy.

"Maui.." Athanasia called out which made me glance to her. She had a troubled expression plastered on her face.

"Lucas, come here." I sent a message to him.

I thought that he'd appear a little later, but to my surprise, he quickly appeared. I looked at him and our eyes met, I glanced at Ijekiel who still had a blank expression on his face.

"Is he the warlock his majesty chose to be the princess's playmate, instead of me?" The white haired boy questioned.

"Yes, and? What's the son of duke Alpheus doing here?" Lucas proclaimed which made me look at him.

"He's trespassing in the princess's private library, and dared to get closer to her when he knows that there's a limit of how close someone can be to her." I replied honestly which made him glance to the boy.

"You, sir, have already transgressed the law, and have shown discourtesy to the princess. And although the princess has mercifully chosen to pardon your crimes, it would be befitting for you to know your place and keep your distance." He said which made me nod.

"I think it would be for the best if I leave now. I thank the princess for forgiving my insolence. I'm sorry for browsing your personal collection, princess. There were some interesting books."

As Ijekiel neared to Athanasia, I quickly went between them and grabbed the book he's holding. He looked at me while I just took a glance of him before turning to the princess, handing her the book.

"I shall escort you out, Alpheus." I said which made him open his mouth.

"That won't be necessary." He said but I faked a smile.

"I insist, I have some business to do after I escort you out."

He didn't try to prostrate any longer and just nodded in agreement. I looked at the princess and smiled at her before walking pass her. I was about to turn until I felt a hand around my wrist.

"Why do you have to escort that boy out?" It was Lucas, I looked at him quite confusedly.

"Is there anything wrong about that?" I questioned which made him loosen his grip around my wrist.

"Tch, just don't get touchy with him."

Ignoring what he meant, I just nodded in agreement. He let go of my wrist, me and Ijekiel proceeded to step out of the room. I didn't bid goodbye to him when we're outside. I turned to the guards.

"I will inform his majesty about your carelessness."

I said which made them gulp. Their expressions showed that they knew their mistake. I just huffed my cheeks and walked back inside the library.

The sight of Lucas playing with Athanasia came to view. I widened my eyes and froze on my spot when I saw them like that. I can't hear what they're saying nor did I want to hear any of it.

My worst fear came true, I felt a pang in my heart. I felt bitter at the sight and I'm annoyed, not because they were acting that way, but because I'm reacting this way towards a destined couple.

Feeling sad, I picked myself back up and turned my back on them. I took heavy steps as I walked out of the room and tried to leave the jealousy that I'm feeling.

Without noticing it, the bitter feeling just grew stronger.

"Your majesty, I request for you to change the guards that are guarding the princess's private library." I proclaimed without showing any emotions.

"Did something happen?" He questioned which made me nod.

"Someone managed to trespass while the guards were slacking off. If that someone was dangerous, the princess's life would've been in danger."

My statement made him stop from writing and look up to me. He quickly stood up from his seat with an angered expression across his face. Not wanting to face his anger, I bowed a little.

"Felix!" He called out which made the door open.

"Your majesty??" I heard Felix.

"Bring the guards who are in charge of guarding Athanasia's private room!"

"Yes, your majesty."

The door closed and I slight stood up. I kept my head low and gaze down to the floor. I ignored the bitter feeling in my heart and decided to stand straight.

"Blessings and glory upon the sun of the Obelian empire." I said before turning around to walk away until he spoke.

"You.." He said, I turned around and faced him.

"Yes, your majesty?" He kept quiet so I turned around, again.

And walked away.
