Meeting Mike

Another day. Another misery. My phone rings out loud and it's Kobi.

"Why are you still at home you couch potato?"
"Kobi I don't feel like coming to school today please"
"Huh? School just resumed and you're slacking already? Honors student in the mud! Get your fat ass down here cause I'm in front of your door and seem to be causing a little traffic"
"What? I'm coming" I roll my eyes and put on a floral yellow slim fit gown and white boots,I put up my hair into two knots just like Mickey Mouse wife. I look cuter when I'm depressed. I quickly grab a brown crop hoodie and race downstairs. Mom has left for work. I grab a fruit bar and a can of orange juice and lock the door. And there Kobi is parked right on the sidewalk with a ton of cars honking just so they could pass,and he's looking carefree while blasting Justin Bieber songs! Sometimes I wonder how I'm still sane when I have such crazy people around me! I hop into the back seat and give him a bear hug from behind,I'm laughing so loudly and I don't even know.
"Morning bestie,let's go come on"
"Thought you didn't wanna go to school"
"Not when there's a long line of cars waiting for you to move,come on they'd call the cops soon"

We zoom off and I laugh so loudly.
"You're crazy Kob "
"As I should be"
"Crackhead"
"Doof"
"Okay okay Kierra I know you might probably be in love with me but calm down"
"Ewww I'm not one of those over obsessed girls at school"
"Oh my God Kierra! I totally forgot to tell you, while I was having football practice yesterday a girl in the cheer team totally passed out. Daniella remember her?"
" Yes I dooo, why though"
"Apparently my sweat was too hot for her to handle"
"What in the world! I hope she isn't up"
"Oh Baddie Kierra,I like this part of you"
"Shut up"

We arrive at school and Yasmin is already waiting in the car park.
"Come on we've got psychology" Yas says
"Well good morning to you too" I reply
We walk into a classroom where we're going to have the class and luckily the teacher hasn't arrived. We settle down. We don't find luck in our sitting arrangements so Yas and Kob are far away from me. I take my phone out and start scrolling through TikTok. Sometimes I wish I'm famous, you know just for the fun of it. Moments later,the teacher walks in with a briefcase. He is a young man. You hardly see youths teach psychology,it's always the elderly.

"Good morning class,I am your teacher, Mr Gabriel, you are free to call me Gabriel, please bring out your laptops and note books let's begin. I take out my laptop and forget it isn't charged,I used it all night to listen to sad beats on YouTube and forgot to plug it in,I hope this man doesn't walk around or else I'm screwed.
Mr Gabriel starts teaching. 30 minutes till the class ends I'm so bored. Suddenly a tall,light skinned,brown haired boy followed by two other boys, one really fair and the other looks like a black American walks into class and I swear this looks like a classic teenage romance movie.
I look at Yasmin and we have the same reaction on our faces, Kobi just rolls his eyes. The whole class gasps!
"Good morning"the light skinned boy greets Mr Gabriel,he has a baritone voice.
" Young men,you're late"
"Oh to clarify,we are just newly admitted here"
" well then introduce yourself to my class and you're welcome"
"Hello everybody, I'm Mike" the light skinned one speaks first.
"Wassup peeps, ya boy Trevor in the class"the black American looking boy speaks up.I see Mike hit him. I giggle and Kobi stares at me.
"Hi guys,I'm James" the fair boy speaks up, he seems calm.
" You're welcome young men,please find yourself seats so I can get back to my lecture"
I look around and oh no there's an empty seat beside me and two empty ones up front, I look at Yas and she smirks.
Mike comes up beside me and sits on the empty chair,he doesn't even say hi, how rude. I noticed he smells like vanilla,and he had deep blue eyes. He catches me staring and I quickly look away. He still doesn't say hi and neither would I.

"Okay everyone,we've come to the end of this lesson, see you next week.
Finally. I run over to Yas and Kob.
"Oh my God you guys,we have superstars or models in our class"I say
"Girllll I was shocked" Yas replies
" they're not all that" Kob replies
"Jealous much" Yas replies
"Actually yeah, Kob is right,let's go to the library"
" y'all are no fun" Yas says.

We start walking towards the library and see Lisa the school's popular girl tormenting a sophomore with her cheetahs(her followers) they're pouring the little girl water. She seems so terrified. One thing is sure if you don't stand up against Lisa she'd ruin you. Once in second grade she poured transparent super glue on my chair and I sat on it,when I stood up and tried to struggle with it, it tore my skirt and I was naked,just in my underwear in front of the whole class,I reported her to my dad and she was suspended for a month. She doesn't step to me anymore. I walk up to her.
"What's your problem,let her go"
"Stay away Kierra"
"What no,what did she do"
"She stepped on my Gucci boots"
"And that's why you'd like to murder her?"
I take the girl away from her hands and she quickly runs away.
Lisa looks at me with a stare of death.
"Anyways party? Friday?"
"Yes."
She's plotting something.

I get home. Kobi drove I and Yasmin. As we're getting out of the car, Yasmin taps me.
"Look there"
I see the model boy,Mike coming out of the house opposite us. Oh my God he's the new neighbor. He looks at me and I quickly rush into my house.
Oh my God!
