I am awoken by my mother prodding my face with one of her paws. "Come, child. We must go."

I lift my head and stand up. "Lead the way."

We leap down from the tree. "We are going to have to run for long periods. Are you okay with that?" she asks with a serious look, the wind blowing her fur in her face.

I nod "Of course mother."

She lowers her head for a second before looking around. "That way," she says, pointing a paw.

We begin to sprint in the direction she specified. We run until the morning sun rises, with breaks few and far between. There were times when mother had to carry me.

We are under a medium sized bush. Part of it is above a river so we have a drink. Mother catches a mouse, it is small but it will have to do.

"How far is this place?"

"I do not know, my darling."

I sigh and slowly chew on a piece of mouse. "Are we safe?"

"My dear, many questions I will not know the answer to. Some we will never know but I think we are never safe. There is always a chance of us being found, no matter what."

I lay down "What DO you know?"

"All I can tell you is that you have some sort of power. I do not think it is a mainstream power like having the speed and agility of a supernatural entity but something more. You will have to discover it for yourself."

I look at my paws in front of me. "Power... What is my power..."

She reassuringly licks my forehead "You'll discover soon enough. But for now, sleep child, you need rest."

I nod and rest my head on my paws, closing my eyes and drifting off to sleep.

The next few days are spent traveling and trying to catch food. We eventually reach the human town, and it is huge.

"This place was called Dublin by humans. I grew up here."

"Wow! That's pretty cool mother! Do you know where we go now?"

"We need to head to a café. You see humans use this thing called money which they exchange for things. We don't have that. Everything is what humans call 'free'"

"Why are you telling me this?"

"I have a feeling about what your power may be, this may help you."

"I see..."
