Chapter 20

Lunar's POV

I don't want to be a beast. I want to be normal. I don't want to take over the world. I want to be normal. I just want to be normal. I want to be home. I want to be away from this hell hole, this torture. I want to be with Adam.

Adams POV

We're heading out to Lake Kira. It is two hours away from Dublin but we are going. I'm terrified, I don't know what to expect but I will do anything for Lunar.

Larry is driving with his usual scowl on his face, thinking deeply. Edge is sitting in the back with Bono's head on his lap, petting his hair. Bono is murmuring quietly to him. I'm sitting in the front with Larry.

We worked out what we are going to do last night... Well... As much as we could considering we have no idea what the place looks like.

Larry stops the car on the bank of Lake Kira and the four of us hop out.
"There it is..." Larry says with a sigh.

We all look at the house that is in clear view from where we are standing. It is a horrible shade of yellow, two stories high and quite large. The lab is supposed to be underground.

Edge is in a disguise and he walks up to the house while the rest of us hide up a tree nearby. We watch him go up to the house and knock on the door. After talking with Shido for ten minutes the two of them walk away somewhere. Edge refused to tell us what the excuse he was going to use would be but I suppose whatever it was, it worked.

We wait till they are a safe distance away before jumping down from the tree and sneaking over to the house. Shido was smart enough to lock the door so we have to get Larry to pick the lock.

It takes him ten minutes to pick the lock before we sneak inside. "How do we find the lab?" Bono says, worried. "Look around, it won't be on the top floor and all that is on the bottom floor is a library, bathroom and laundry," Larry says. I nod, "He has a point."

"Maybe it's like in those movies where pulling on one of the books in the library will open to the lab?" I say. Larry nods "We could try... but there is a fuckton of books in there."

"I have to pee..." Bono says. "Oh for fucks sake just hurry up and go," Larry says, pointing to the bathroom. Bono runs off while Larry and I start searching for a way in.

A moment later Bono comes back, "Guys, guys! I found the entrance!" "How the hell did you find the entrance, all you did was go to the toilet?"

He rolls his eyes and drags us to the toilet where there is an... Elevator in the wall? "I pressed a button and it appeared." "Well then..." Larry says "Let's go."

The three of us hop in and get a fright because of the speed of the elevator. It shoots down at a high speed. We stand there for a moment as the doors open to a massive science lab. We sneak inside and look around.

There is a crying noise coming from the other end and the three of us run towards it. We turn a corner near the end of the lab and see Shido standing there with Lunar.

Lunar has tears running down her face and has bruises all over her body. She is only wearing shorts and a tank top. I though Edge was distracting him!? My god it's worse than I thought.

Shido tightens his hold on her and speaks in a mocking tone, "I see you have come to save your precious Lunar have you?" We glare at him. "Yes, we have," I say. Larry nods and Bono hides behind Larry a little.

"Too bad. I'm taking her away and you won't be able to find us," he says with a smirk. I narrow my eyes and take a step towards him, "Not if we get her first." In a flash Shido takes out a knife and holds it to her neck, "Back. Off. Or. Else."

Lunar lets out a small squeak, she has kept quiet this whole time, just crying a little. "Adam, I love you..." she murmurs. "Shut up, bitch," Shido says, whacking her head. "I love you too..." I say.

"You have a choice. Leave now and I will allow you to live. Or stay and be killed." Bono whimpers from behind Larry. "We aren't leaving without Lunar," I say, glaring at him. "Well that's just too bad, isn't it?" he says with a wicked smile across his face.

"I'm taking her with me. Resist and I will kill you," he says, narrowing his eyes. "Please... No..." Lunar whimpers, "Just go..." I shake my head, "Not without you." "Shut UP, how many times do I have to say it," Shido says angrily.

I glare at him and take a step towards him. He presses the knife against Lunar's skin lightly, "Stay. Back."

All of a sudden there is a loud gunshot. I turn to see Edge standing there, glaring at Shido, holding a gun, "That went better than I thought," he says. I turn to Shido and see him on the floor, a hole in his head and blood splattered against the wall. Lunar dashes over to me and wraps her arms around me tightly.

I hug her back. "I'm so sorry I left, Adam!" "It's okay , Lunar! It wasn't your fault. You're safe now." I softly press my lips to hers, a little desperately. She kisses back then pulls away, "I love you, Adam." "I love you too."

"Let's go home guys," Larry says. We all nod. "What do we do with... him...?" Lunar asks, gesturing to Shido. "Just leave him... there isn't anyone here anyway," Larry says. "Not very politically correct..." Edge says, throwing his gun on the floor. "WHO CARES CAN WE JUST GO!" Bono says loudly, clinging to Edge's arm like letting go would be disastrous. 

Larry shrugs then starts walking with Bono and Edge following him. Lunar looks around the lab for a moment before switching to her cat form and jumping into my arms. I hold her close and carry her out.
