Chapter Fourteen - Leaving So Soon?

I quickly grab my car keys off the front table and walk out, not telling mum that I'm going out, that I probably won't be home for dinner, that I probably won't be home at all, that she might never even see me again. I shake my head to clear the thoughts as I climb into my car and back out, with one last glance back at my house, my family.

The road out of my neibourhood drives past a few houses before the road winds into the forest. My foot eases on the accelerator, but the speed of 50kph, in the suburban area, just isn't fast enough, so I increase slightly up to 65kph as I reach edge of the forest. I gasp slightly at the two hides figures on the road, as I slam on my breaks screeching to a stop right in front of Ryan's enforcers and a curse under my breath. As soon as I've stopped they speak. My window might be closed but I can still hear them perfectly well.

"Off somewhere Miss Montgomery?" One asked.

I recognise him, Jakob. He's very tall with jet black hair, that's cut into short spikes that stick up in all directions as he pulls off his hood, to reveal his perfect cheek bone structure, but with a slight crooked nose, probably from being broken one to many times.

"Ah yes, my mum wanted me to run down to the store" I lie easily through my teeth, hoping he'll buy it.

"Mm, well, I think you'll find that the store is in the other direction" He cocks an eyebrow at me, tilting his head to one side.

I growl quietly in frustration, "Just let me though Jakob"

"I'm sorry Luna, but we've been given strict instructions to not let you go under and circumstances by Alpha Matthews" The other one, Josh, tells me.

He's visibly much smaller than Jakob, but his muscles are more defined, protruding through his snug hoodie.
He hasn't taken off his hood so I can't see his face, and I can't remember what he looks like. Blonde hair? Brown hair? For all I know, he could have ginger hair...

"Move" I hiss, glancing down at the clock, it's four oh five. I've got fifty five minutes till I have to be there, before my friends die.

Jake shivers slightly before, through his teeth, saying, "No"

Was he having trouble saying no to me?

"I said, MOVE!" I ordered, both of the boys shake under my command, moving unwillingly to the side of the road to let me pass.

I raise my eyebrows at them in confusion. I know that when the Alpha give and order it goes, they can't disobey him, so why had they moved for me?

"Please don't do this Ana" He pleaded, staring at me with worried eyes, knowing that I'm going to do it anyway, no matter what he says.

I stare apologetically at him before my foot slams down hard on the accelerator and the car lurches forwarded, pushing me back in my seat form the g-force. I twist and wind through the familiar lane until I reach the towns boundaries, I glance over to the sign that says,

Leaving us so soon? Do visit again soon!

To think that I might never cross back into my town again scares me, the fact that I might never see Ryan again, even if he does forgive me for leaving with out saying goodbye. I continue to think about Ryan and the life we could of had. How we would of mated fully, loving him even more, how one day he would of gotten down on one knee and presented me with a beautiful diamond ring, promising to love me for the rest of his life, how we would of someday had a beautiful wedding on the beach with our closest friends and family, the day when we'd have kids, we would of grown old by each others side. But non of that is ever going to happen, I think as tears stream noiselessly down my face, staining my rosy cheeks. I haven't known Lexi, Cassie, Axel, Dylan or Ryan for very long, yet I feel like I've known them forever, I may not have the childhood memories with them but they are family, my family. I'm going to miss every single one of them.
