Chapter Six - Welcome Home

Ryan grabbed my hand tightly, as if he was scared I would run. He continued to pulled me up onto the massive platform at the front of the room that everyone had gathered in. I sucked in a breath of air as I took in the amount of people standing no sitting here in front of us talking and laughing, not even noticing that Ryan and I were up here. I took this time to inspect everyone, I found it interesting and a little surreal that everyone here was a werewolf, especially since they all looked so normal. There where people of all ages, from infants, children, teens, adults, and even elderly looking people. I noticed there were a bunch of mothers with strollers gossiping away to each other as the rocked their baby's back and froth unconsciously. I surveyed an elderly couple chatting away, and I could help but notice the loving look that they both gave each other. There were young kids who were running up and down the sides of the room, giggling as the did so, "Tag! Your it!" I head a boy shriek with excitement. Then there were a group of teens, younger than me, maybe thirteen or fourteen, lounging in the chairs furthest from the stage, some of their feet resting on the chairs in front, all looking a little bored.

I then notice of the families that were sitting nearer to the front of the auditorium, and I focused in on a lady with jet black hair who looked to be in her mid to late thirties. She was bent over in her sat, leaning towards the little girl with blonde pig tails next to her. I watched as the girl, who looked to be no older than five, give her mum a toothy grin and she was handed a little container that I could smell had banana chips in it. I didn't realise until the lady fixed the blankets in her arms, that she was actually cradling a small little baby, who was fast asleep in it's mother's arms, regardless of the noise booming around the room. I watched as the man sitting on the other side of the little girl, had one hand on her shoulder, but was captivatingly watching he lady, he beamed at her when she met his gaze, she returned the smile, and added a wink.

I could help but think how normal the whole situation looked, if didn't know their wolfy secret, I'd be non the wiser. But at the same time there was something different, everyone seemed so comfortable with everyone. To put it plainly, everyone looked happy.

"Attention!" Ryan call out to the preoccupied crowd, but no one even flinched at his voice. He frowned then sighed as a little before taking a big breath! "SHUT. UP!" His voice boomed with authority.

I stared at him with wide eyes. I'd never seen him, or anyone else for that matter have a voice so powerful and commanding, and to be honest it shook me to my core, although I'm not sure if it was fear. Admiration maybe? He glanced over at me and his whole expression softened and he squeezed my hand reassuringly, before his focus returned to the scene in front of him - hundreds for curious eyes, mostly inspecting me.

"I, as the Alpha of the Silver Moon pack, want to officially welcome Anastasia Montgomery as a member of our family," He exclaimed with a goofy smile. I too broke out in a large smile. It was strange, as soon as the words left his lips I felt instantly connected to these people, I suddenly felt like I've known them my whole life, and I care deeply about them too, it was a sudden instinct.

I look around at the people who Ryan had just called my new family as they all erupted into applause, I gave an elated giggle at the feeling of acceptance, and turned to Ryan who was still beaming, ear to ear. Once people settled a little he spoke again, "And there is something else I've even meaning to do," he announced, capturing their attention once again, the room became so quiet even a human with normal hearing could hear a pin drop, "I, Alpha Ryan Matthews, accept you, Anastaisa Montgomery, as my mate and my Luna," Again, at his declaration, I felt an instant strong connection, this time to him. I felt like I've just ran into a wall; a wall of butterflies, or marshmallows. I could hardly breath, and I felt like I would die for him. To me this is what love felt like. But, Love? I've only known the boy for a week! But I didn't care.
