Chapter Three - Game On

I stormed out of the school building and through the car park and agitated tear dripped down my face. I started to hyperventilate, how ridiculous, I didn't even know this boy and he is already getting to me. I stomped aggravatedly across the road and sat down on the soft green grass in front of the dark green woods, closing my eyes and taking steady deep breaths in and out, trying to calm myself. I listened to the calming sound of the wind blowing through the trees, the birds chirping and anything else that would slow my breathing.

"Anastasia?" My eyes flashed opened as I turned to see Ryan walking towards me and I narrowed my eyes at him as he crossed the road.

"What do you want?" I sneered as confidently as I could before I turned back to face the tree line again, not even wanting to see his face right now.

Yes you do, my wolf hummed quietly to me.

I didn't expect the next words to come out of his mouth, "To apologise," He mumbled stupidly under his breath, but I heard him fine. His cheeks blushed a soft pink in embarrassment, but it was so subtle I doubt anyone with normal eyes would of seen.

I tried to hide my surprise, "I don't care," I snapped harshly, looking back up at him to glare coldly into his eyes. He flinched slightly at my words and I instantly felt bad, my wolf growing at me for hurting his feelings.

"But I do, I want to be friends," He smiled apologetically at me, his kind smile made me swoon.

"Why?" I asked skeptically. Why would an annoying, angelic guy want to be friends with me. I'm a freak remember. But not only that, I've only been at this school for like all of ten minutes and everyone I've talked to seems to want to be my friend!

He looked a little confused by my question, his eyebrows knitted together, "Why not," he quipped, so sure of himself in that moment.

"You don't even know me," I told him through narrow eyes. Because if you did you'd think I was a freak - although you'd be right... I told him in my head.

He bit his lip to stop himself from laughing, but a small chuckle escaped, "You are so oblivious."

"To what?" I snapped as I looked up at him upset that he seemed to understand everything that I did not.

He didn't even hesitate before saying, "To who you really are," In that moment I wanted to tell him all my secrets, and ask him all the questions that have been floating around in my head since the day started.

Once I allowed myself to take in another breath, I replied, "Okay Mr Wise guy, who am I?" I raised my brows questionably at him, trying to knock him off of his high horse.

To my disappointment he wasn't fazed by my question and answered cooly, his eyes sparking as he did, "I'm time you'll see," He chuckled humorously at some private joke that I wanted to beg to be apart of.

But of course, because I wanted to at least pretend like he wasn't affecting me, and because I'm a moron, I snapped at him, "Whatever, leave me alone. I'm going home," I stood up, dusting off the dirt from my bum, swung my bag over my shoulder as gracefully as I could and started to walked away, even though something inside of me - mainly my wolf - was begging me to go back to him.

"What about your brother?" He challenged, calling out to me.

"How did you know I had a brother?" I frowned in confusion, turning to face him again, annoyed that I couldn't just leave my brother here without a car.

"Don't you know, I know everything." He smirked at me proudly, puffing out his chest a little.

"You're so bipolar," I moaned at him, "You are kind of giving me whiplash."
