alexa and scarlett stood up and joined the rest of the group that was right next to the table in the living room, while drew, louis and vivi stayed on the couch some more time.

alexa waited for all the boys, including scott, to get up and join asher before doing the same simply because she didn't feel like greeting scott, not yet.

he didn't do anything bad to her, especially because they only met a few days ago, she just wanted to avoid him in a certain way and wait for him to say something.

"hey lex!" that was when alexa heard scott's voice. "what's up?"

alexa turned herself towards scott with a little smile on her face trying to hide the butteflies she felt in her stomach as scott greeted her.

"hi scott." she kindly smiled. "i didn't expect you to be here."

"well, i didn't either." the brown haired guy chuckled. "so, you're friends with asher?"

alexa nodded as she was playing with her fingers. whenever she would do that, it meant she was feeling nervous. that was how scott made her feel and she didn't know why, not yet.

"yeah it's been a while now, i know all the boys of the group because of vivi." alexa explained.

"yeah right.." scott looked away as he was thinking about something. "so, uhm.."

before he could even start speaking again, alexa saw austin jump right on scott's shoulders making him almost fall on the floor.

"what the fuck was that?" scott said with a confusing face.

"instead of spending the whole night by yourselves, why don't you guys join the rest of us?" his best friend said inviting the two of them to reach the others.

alexa and scott looked at each other shrugging and then quickly joined the little group formed around the table.

asher was holding a couple of transparent liquid bottles, it was probably vodka, while drew was looking at him with a weird expression on his face. she guessed he, vivi and louis stopped playing at video games while she and scott were talking to each other.

"asher, bro, are you sure your parents won't find out?" drew said showing a little bit of concern.

"dude chill out and have fun, we're gonna think about this later." asher said turning towards him. "now we're gonna form two different teams, equally divided, and whoever loses pays pledge."

as asher's voice resonated in the whole room, everyone else started screaming showing all the excitement and adrenaline in their body.

"since this is my house, i think everybody agrees i should be the captain of one team, right?" asher said with no little self confidence.

as alexa heard those words, she remembered why at first the two of them didn't really get along. asher was a guy full of himself, but once you got to know him better, you'd realize he wasn't bad at all.

"yeah whatever, one thing for sure is that i won't be in your same team." scarlett said walking in the opposite side of asher.

"hm, i don't know." he shrugged. "i was just about to say your name."

alexa opened her eyes wide and immediately looked at scarlett: her face turned red and it looked like she couldn't even say a word. while scarlett didn't want to be anywhere near asher, on the other side he enjoyed teasing her.

"c'mon scarlett go with asher." vivi said raising a little her voice. "we all knew you two liked each other."

as the brown haired girl said that, all she got was a death stare from scarlett, who in the meantime was walking towards asher and after a couple of seconds she was standing on his side.

"see, my love?" asher got scarlett closer to him placing one arm on her shoulders. "everybody thinks we're meant to be."

after the little romantic scene, asher nominated the other team's captain, scott, and the two formed their own teams.

asher's team included scarlett, drew and louis, while scott's included austin, vivi and alexa.

"dude are you sure you made the right choice choosing these two?" austin said to his friend referring to the girls.

"ha! you're the funny one of the family, aren't you?" alexa said as they were getting on the left side of the table where the game was set.

"you clearly haven't seen me and scott last year. we're the best team ever, right?" vivi said hugging scott and looking at him.

alexa was smiling looking at the scene between the three, when she noticed a detail: as far as she knew, her friend and scott had been knowing each other for quite some time, but the way vivi was looking at him wasn't really friendly.

her eyes were sparkling and impatientely waiting for scott to look at her in the same way. the guy hugged her friend back kindly smiling and the three of them kept joking with each other.

alexa's smile slightly disappeared, but she didn't want anyone to notice. was there really something between vivi and scott? why didn't her friend tell her anything about it?

alexa shook her head, full of thoughts, trying to get them out. they were just friends joking and having fun, nothing more. it was a simple hug, not a wedding proposal. also, if there was something, vivi would have told her. they were best friends.

"hey losers' team!" louis' voice interrupted the flow of alexa's thoughts. fortunately. she was getting so damn paranoid. "can we get started?"

"of course." scott turned into the other team's direction. "i'm damn ready to see you guys lose."

"oohh damn right." austin was hyped.

alexa and vivi got right next to them, aware of the fact that the two guys in their team were the only chance to get some points.

scott and asher were standing at the opposite side of the tables looking at each other with a defiant look.

"your house, your turn." scott said showing he was pretty confident in himself.

not gonna lie, alexa liked this side of him. as she thought of that, her look got on scott without even realising and that was when her eyes met scott's.

the odds of him looking at her back as he was dealing with asher were low, but still they thought of each other at the same time.

scott kindly smiled at her and she did the same. suddenly she felt guilty for sharing that little moment with scott, as if she was kind of betraying her best friend.

"hey stop! guilty for what? you two aren't doing anything and also him and vivi are not dating. why are you getting so damn paranoid?!"

alexa shook her head, again, while thinking of that. she was overthinking, as always, and she wasn't enjoying the night because of that.

"are you guys ready?" scott's voice brought her back to reality.

she quickly nodded trying not to show the others she was distracted.

"so who's going first?" she asked looking at scott and austin. of course it had to be one of them.

scott looked at her with a pretty serious expression on his face and said: "you."
