the next morning lex woke up pretty confused in a room that definitely did not look like hers.

'where the heck am i?'

she immediately thought as she got up and started looking around. her last memory was playing beer pong at asher's and then having a big headache because of the little amount of alcohol she had.

what happened after?

as she was trying to remember the rest of the night, her look went straight up towards the door: someone was entering and the second later, there he was.

"oh hey, you're up?" scott kindly asked. "i would have knocked but i thought you were still sleeping."

"no worries, uhm..." lex was feeling nervous. "how did i get here in the first place?"

"you don't remember?" scott giggled. "no drinks for you the next night out, little miss."

as she heard those words, the worst thoughts came up into lex's mind. she was just hoping she did nothing wrong and she would have regretted.

"i do not. did something bad happened?" she asked.

"i know what you're asking and no, it didn't happened." scott said as lex was relieved. "but i don't think it would be a bad thing."

lex awkwardly chuckled without saying anything. she felt her cheeks getting red and she didn't want scott to notice, so she just sat on the bed and put her shoes on.

they both got out of the room and while scott entered the kitchen, lex decided to wait for him in the living room. she wanted to leave as sooner as possible.

"what time did you get home tonight, young boy?" an adult female voice.

shoot, his mom. couldn't have been more awkward for lex.

"it wasn't that late, mom, chill out." she heard scott saying.

"i heard you having some trouble getting into your bedroom, i'm just hoping you're not messing up." she said. "are we clear?"

"mom would you shut up and mind your business?" scott raised a little his voice. "i'm going, see you for lunch i guess."

scott got out of the kitchen and took lex's hand, as to say 'the sooner we leave the house, the better'.

lex wasn't a big fan of meeting the parents, but it would have been polite of scott to introduce her to his mom, especially after sleeping in her house.

they probably didn't have a great relationship.

as they were leaving scott's house, lex got a text on her phone. she just hoped it wasn't her mom or dad getting mad at her.

grandma wants to know if you did what you had to. call her asap.

shoot. it was her cousin. with everything going on, lex completely forgot about the thing her grandma asked her to do.

"i'm sorry for rushing us out of the house, but it's not a great time." scott brought lex to the reality.

"it's okay, you don't need to apologise at all." lex tried to make him feel comfortable. "i'm here if you need to talk."

scott looked at her with a little smile on his face, appreciating her words, then the two of them got in the car.

scott put the aux on his phone so they could decide the music to play. he was gentleman enough to let alexa choose the first song.

'freaks' by surf curse was her favourite song of the moment.

"i don't really listen to these songs, but i have to say it's not bad at all." scott said after the first minute of the song.

"i'll pretend i didn't hear the first things you said and i'll be glad to introduce you to these songs." lex said giggling.

during all the ride to lex's house, they didn't really speak, probably because they felt the awkwardness because of all the things that happened earlier, or simply because they were tired.

they were finally arrived at lex's house: scott looked at her as if he was almost asking her to stay a little more; lex looked at him back with a little smile on her face to thank him for the gesture and was torn whether asking him to spend some more time toghether or go back home.

until his voice interrupted the vortex of her thoughts, as if scott read her mind.

"uhm, i don't know what were your plans for today, but wanna have breakfast together?"

not even thinking about it twice, lex nodded and closed the door of the car, ready to grab a cup of coffee to feel a little more energic and to get rid of the terrible hangover headache.
