The main hall of the palace looked overhead as Daiyu was escorted by Ganyu. It was glided and shining, almost blinding her. The pillars were taller than most people she knew. The floors were so clean that you could see your face in them. Pieces of Cor Lapis were around the room along with some Juvenile Jade for aesthetic. At the end of the hallway was a large throne where the Emperor of Liyue sat. Nearby his throne sat the other members of the royal family. Prince Itto saw her and started waving at her. Prince Albedo was reading indifferently, casting her glances. Prince Gorou stared at her with interest. Princess Noelle was earning some clothes for her brothers. Ningguang was looking over some files, glancing upwards as one of her assistants came forward.
"Your majesties, I bring you one of the maids that the eldest prince has chosen to be his private maid." Ganyu bowed, sneaking a smile at Ningguang.
"So you've finally picked someone to be your personal maid? I'm shocked, you usually don't love girls doting on you." Ningguang teased, staring at a blushing Itto.
"Well Auntie, I found her standing there in the sunlight and thought to myself, "Itto, this one is the one". So listening to my thoughts, I jumped right in!"
Albedo smirked. "So you are capable of thought."
"HEY! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!"
"It's a pleasure to meet you then. Can you give us your name?" Noelle asked Daiyu, who had zoned out in the process.
Daiyu blinked, before bowing in embarrassment. "My apologies! My name is Daiyu and I am very much thankful for you considering me to be your personal maid."
The Emperor hummed, scratching his chin. "So, you wish to become my son's maid?" He got up from the throne, coming over as he examined her.
A shadow covered Daiyu, who flinched as his golden eyes bore down upon her. An icy feeling went down her spine, gazing at the Emperor whose face was scrunched up. She started fidgeting a bit, trying not to be scared at the ruler of the entire empire. Eventually, he stopped and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"What are your skills? Can you cook? Are you capable of fixing clothes? Do you work with paperwork?" He rattled off, making her dizzy.
"Well....back home I was the one who kept things tidy and neat. I can cook many recipes, including some regional delicacies from Mondstadt and Inazuma. Oh, and I can do paperwork as well. I was my town's accountant."
"See Pops? She can vibe with the oni man!" Itto leaned over on his throne. "She can stay by my side and help me with my studies and schedule."
"Not only that, but her versatility means that she could help all of us out." Noelle placed her small project aside. "Are you familiar with weapons Miss Daiyu?"
"Um....I am proficient with my bow. I had to hunt with the men of my town."
"A bow user eh? I think we can train you to be better!" Gorou's ears perked up with delight.
The Emperor mulled over these words and gave an approving nod. "Efficient in cooking, cleaning, and combat, I see you are overqualified. In fact, you are just what this family needs. I am willing to offer you a position in servitude as our personal maid."
Daiyu looked up with a tinge of disbelief. "I beg your pardon? I thought that I would be just serving the first prince."
"Are you declining an offer from my father?" Albedo narrowed his eyes at her, making her flinch. "You should be grateful that he considered you in the first place."
There was a small tremor that shook the room as Daiyu fell to her knees. An overwhelming power came over her small form as the Emperor stood over her. The Earth Shaker himself was no one to trifle with and it scared her to no avail. He leaned over, placing two fingers under her chin as his golden eyes pierced her very being.
"I'm afraid you misunderstand. You have no choice in the matter. You will be serving our every need from the minuscule to the major. You will come when called, you must never be late, and I expect a full report of your daily activities by the end of the week. You are not allowed to leave without permission, you are to wear a personal uniform of my choosing, and if I ask you to stay with me for long periods of time, you are to stay."
Daiyu felt a cold chill run down her back as he grabbed her hand in a gentle manner. Her eyes darted to see Itto grinning brightly, Noelle giving her a sympathetic smile, Gorou's tail wagging, Ningguang staring intently, and Albedo still glaring at her.
"Do I make myself clear Ms. Daiyu?"
"Crystal, your highness."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Why Daiyu, you look lovely!"
"Doesn't she always look lovely? That's a generalization."
"Hey now! We hardly ever get family outings like this. No fighting!"
"Gorou, your tail is wagging like crazy. Keep your eyes upwards."
"My apologies! I can't help but stare at her."
If my face wasn't in flames now, it surely was after that. I had to realize that this was the first time they had ever seen me in casual clothing. It wasn't anything special, just a long black sweater, ankle length white skirt, matching flats, and my hair was let down. The threshes cascaded downwards like a waterfall and held together with a headband. I made sure to grab my Mora and put it into my homemade purse.
The rest of the family were waiting for me as I left my room. The Emperor was dressed in his causal disguise, arms crossed as he waited for me. Lady Ningguang wore a nice gold dress that complimented her figure. Noelle stayed in her battle maid attire, and Gorou stayed in his armor too. Albedo had his lab coat on, fiddling with his collar. The one that didn't surprise me was Itto, whom was never one for formal attire and dressed as he pleased.
Needless to say, they were all set to spend a day outside.
"Alright then, shall we head to the Marketplace? I have a list of ingredients that I must purchase to make these meals for the Anemo congregation. Luckily Mondstadt has some signature recipes that are simple to make and delicious to taste." I pulled out my list before it was snatched up by Rex Lapis.
"Hmm...these seem to be simple to gather and buy. Perhaps we should all split up when we get there."
Ningguang shook her head. "Dear brother, are you trying to steal Daiyu for yourself? Surely this was supposed to be a family outing."
"Yeah old man! You spend more time with her on a daily basis than all of us combined!" Itto complained, clenching his fists. "I wanted to show her the beetle battling grounds!"
"Oh, I was hoping to go by the docks and seeing the ships come to port." Noelle pouted.
"The best place to take her would be the bookstore. I wouldn't mind spending a day reading." Albedo put out.
I held up my hands, waving them. "No need to disagree. I only need to go to the Marketplace. How about this, we can go to all these places! That way, everybody has an equal amount of time to spend."
There was a pregnant pause before they all nodded. Thank goodness it's easy to persuade them all. I was worried for another battle to break out and destroy the front of the pavilion. Speaking of which, since it floated above Liyue, I had never seen it land before. I guess will have to find a teleportation-
"Instruct the guards to lower the pavilion close enough to the city." Rex Lapis commanded, making me almost choke in disbelief.
Are you kidding me?! What is wrong with the people I serve!

Next time we'll see how protective the family can be around Daiyu. Plus, another family member makes her appearance.
