"Marvel has its moments of fear sure but you can't honestly think it's darker than The Batman!" I exclaim from the couch. Fez sat on the other one, a blunt in hand as we watched the movie
"You're saying aliens coming down from space isn't dark?" He questioned. "You forget when Tom's Spider-Man deadass got dusted or how bout when Iron Man dies?
"No but cmon, Batman's villains are all real people, they don't have super powers or some shit, they're just genuinely crazy ass bitches," I try explaining. "Plus his backstory is dark as hell,"
"Peter Parker loses his most loved people too," Fez pointed out. "His backstory is just as fucked up if you think about it,"
"I guess so bu-" Our argument was cut short as I picked up my ringing phone. Ashtray was calling me. I made my way into the kitchen, not wanting to speak over the movie.
"Hello?" I answered. There was heavy breathing over the line. "Ash?" I asked, this time with more concern.
"Uhm, Mia?" He spoke slowly, deeply. "I need a favor,"
"Yeah, what's up?" I asked, checking the stove clock. It was almost 12am.
"I need you to drive my car," He slurred. "I'm fucked up," My brows furrowed, I can't remember the last time I'd seen Ashtray drunk before.
"Okay," I reply slowly. "Send me your location and I'll be right there,"
"Okay," He mumbled. He sounded tired and I didn't want him out there for too long, it just wasn't safe.
"And don't move Ash, I'll be there as soon as possible." I hang up before seeing he sent me his location. He was around twenty minutes away, near a park it seems.
"I'm gonna go to the store real quick!" I yell to Fezco. I didn't wait for a reply, hearing a 'Be safe kid' as I shut the door.
On the front lawn laid Lexi's bike and I took it. There was no way I was going to walk the entire time there, so I was thankful for the bike. I peddled as fast as I could, making sure to make the right turns when the GPS told me to.
By the time I arrived to the location, I could see the stars peeking through the clouds in the sky. I saw Ash's car parked, the engine running and a figure laying on top of the hood.
"Ash?" I questioned, lightly laying the bike against the car. His head immediately snapped up towards me.
"Hi princess!" He slurred happily. I smile at him, seeing how loose and carefree he was.
"Hi Ash," I respond, getting on the hood with him. "Keys?" He hands me them and I slide it into my pocket before leaning on the hood with him.
"I didn't mean to get drunk," He tells me nervously. "But they kinda forced me to, said I needed to stop being so hard,"
"Who's they?" I ask him lightly.
"The bitches I work for." He mumbled. "It was either get drunk, get drugged or...," I sat up quickly, feeling my blood rise. I could practically feel the tears rise at the thought of him getting hurt.
"Cmon, we're going home," I mumble, tugging on his arm to sit in the passenger seat. It took me a second considering he was way taller than me and also very clumsy at the moment.
"Are you mad?" Ash asks me before I pull off. I watch as he leans his head against the headrest, using those big, brown eyes to their full ability.
"No Ash," I tell him. "You didn't purposely drink,"
"Yeah but you hate when people get drunk," He says, still staring at me deeply.
"I hate when they act all messy and annoying," I let him know. "You're literally just sitting here, don't worry about it Ash," I was being truthful. One of the reasons I hated drunks was because of my dad. He'd always be too loud, too clumsy and I always had to take care of him.
