Chapter 14: Blazing Blood-Stained Soul

The next day

I suddenly wake up and roll over to check the time. It's still really early in the morning. I roll over onto my back as my mind starts thinking about everything that's happened to me up to this point ever since I first set foot in Live House CiRCLE. Reuniting with many of my childhood friends and recalling memories I've forgotten, meeting supernatural beings that range from common folklore to divinity, and learning some of my family's interesting history.

Suddenly a feeling comes over me, the feeling of wind as if I was moving extremely fast. I sit up and look around my room. Alisa, Esteria and Sora-senpai are all asleep. Unable to go back to sleep, I silently head out of my room. I head downstairs towards the living room where I see Bae sleeping while hanging upside down from the ceiling and Ingrid and El sleeping on the couch. They visited last night and are staying the night. I smile watching the two sleeping together when my mind drifts back to when we first met and when we... reunited here...

I'm suddenly overcome with immense pain and almost fall over. I use the wall to steady myself and try to steady my breathing, waiting for the pain to ease.

Aki!

Fighting off the pain, I walk over to the front door when I hear a whining sound and turn around to see Pershing look at me in concern.

"I'll be fine, Pershing. Don't worry, I'll be back soon." I reassure Pershing before heading outside. I exit through the front gate, the pain I feel still stings as I look around. Aki is closeby... She's feeling so much pain, but she's still going. I look in the direction where I feel her and start walking to look for her.

Aki, where are you?

I keep going and searching for Aki when finally, after what felt like an awfully long time...

"Aki..." I say under my breath.

I see Aki slowly walking, using both of her katanas as crutches. Aki slowly looks up at me and I see cuts on her face and a large cut across her abdomen... She's bleeding... Suddenly, all the pain I feel disappears when Aki stumbles forward.

"Aki!" I call out as I rush forward and catch her. Aki's eyes focus solely on me and her hands slowly reach out towards me. Aki suddenly laces her arms around my neck and pulls me into a kiss.

I'm startled at first, but when I look into her eyes... I see deep yearning in her eyes as they glow a brilliant red. I feel myself lean more into the kiss and my hands start to intimately caress her body.

Wait... why am I doing this?!

Aki seems to notice something is up and seems to snap out of it before pulling away from the kiss.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry... I... I-I don't know what came over me... I... I'm... I'm just so happy to see you again..." Aki whispers to me as she buries her head against my shoulder and I hug her comfortingly.

"It's okay, Aki, it's okay. You're safe... and you're back... You're finally back... That's all that matters right now. I'm happy to see you again." I gently tell Aki as she hugs me more.

"Come on, let's get you patched up." I say before picking Aki up and carrying her in my arms. Ingrid was right, Aki is very light.

"Thank you." Aki weakly replies as she leans into me.
