47. Eliminating the Poisonous Insect
The cold fog dissipated somehow.
“Put him down.”
“You’re
obsessed.” Hu Yuelan did not back down.
Even when Chen Ming broke
up with Bai Yiyi, Zhou Nan didn’t see such a
terrible expression on his face, cold and grave.
The latter snapped his
fingers, and the three spells stuck to the fox’s tail. In the blink of an eye,
sparks arose, and Hu Yuelan had to put it away from the pain.
Zhou Nan sat on the ground
and dared not make a sound when the two big shots were quarreling.
“If you are not
competent, don’t interfere.” Chen Ming said bluntly.
Hu Yuelan was angry and
refuted, “You…”
Chen Ming quickly
interrupted her, “If you are competent enough, how could you not know that
there is a poisonous insect in the back of a driver’s neck 100 meters away, and
it would soon break out of his spine and kill him?”
Was it so severe?
Thinking of
this, Zhou Nan got up and hurriedly floated to the driver.
Chen Ming knew that
he had forgotten himself. Then he spoke gently to the speechless Hu Yuelan,
” I was too mean. Just go home first.” Then he rushed to Zhou Nan.
Hu Yuelan paused for a few
seconds before she suddenly realized something and asked, “Hey!
Bai Wuchang didn’t ask you to handle the insects, did he?”
After all, an insect had
nothing to do with the underworld.
Chen Ming replied
vaguely, without refuting or explaining.
Hu Yuelan watched him go
further and couldn’t say anything. She sighed with her hands on the waist, and
muttered, “Making trouble every day.”
At the same
time, Zhou Nan approached the driver who was touching the scratched
rearview mirror and car lights, blaming himself for being too careless. He was still ignorant
of the danger he was in.
Zhou Nan realized he had
run in such a hurry, and it would be pointless if he hadn’t done anything. He floated
closer and said in the driver’s ear, “Sleep. When you wake up, it’ll be
fine.”
Not sure how the driver
would react, he just wanted to try. Luckily, it worked: the driver nodded, fell forward and was unconscious.
It was good to have someone obey his
orders.
Zhou Nan looked up
and saw that Chen Ming was catching up. He immediately smiled and
waved, “Hurry, I’ve made him fall asleep!”
“Good job.” Chen
Ming squatted down to check the driver’s back neck. He gently pressed his
fingers on the skin on the two sides, and there was a dark worm shadow in the middle
of the abscess, which was not deep. When Chen Ming pushed harder, the insect’s
shadow suddenly shook and spread like a cobweb.
Zhou Nan was frightened
and drew back, asking gingerly: “Is it easy to handle?” He was almost
sure that Chen Ming would brag that he was omnipotent, and there was
nothing to worry about, but the latter’s answer surprised him.
“If I were a surgeon,
I would say it’s easy, but unfortunately, I’m not.” Chen
Ming was telling the truth, “Handling insects, to be honest, is not
within my abilities.”
“Then… What should we
do?”
“We have to bite the
bullet. Let’s hope the Hell King does not like him. ” As he
spoke, Chen Ming took out a unique silver device-it was sharp at both
ends, with a flat knife on one side and a sharp needle on the other.
Chen Ming was indeed
not a surgeon, but he was surprisingly skillful. After putting on rubber
gloves, he disinfected the knife with alcohol and fire and resolutely started.
The instant the skin was
cut open, the insect immediately wanted to creep deeper. Chen Ming spun the
tool rapidly and poked the needle accurately into the insect’s little body and
dragged it out.
Zhou Nan saw the
disgusting thing-a cockroach head, a centipede body, and a scorpion hook on the
butt. He admired Chen Ming, who was holding and observing it. Chen Ming didn’t
even vomit the noodles he ate a few hours ago when watching it wriggling.
After a few seconds, Chen
Ming finished the observation and put the insect in the glass bottle, and then
checked the wound on the driver’s neck. The cut was not deep, and there was a little
blood. Chen Ming took out the bandage and wrapped him. Still worried, he took
out the driver’s phone, turned on the GPS, and called an ambulance.
Listening to the inquiries
on the phone, neither of them replied. They packed their things and were to
leave.
Zhou Nan sighed with
relief after the crisis was resolved and said to Chen Ming casually:
” I didn’t expect you to support me in front of Hu Yuelan.”
“Emm,” Chen
Ming replied without thinking, “I can’t help it. I have to protect my child.”
His words were not pleasant to hear but
reasonable. But something was wrong- what did he mean by “protecting his child”?
“That’s called
righteousness!” Zhou Nan retorted, ” I suspect you’re cursing me, and I have evidence!”
