Beacon Hills

Once we landed I couldn't help but feel lighter, like coming back was already helping me. On the flight over I had called ahead, and rented an apartment in Beacons Hills ready for us to get there.

I was in the taxi with Vince as we made our way to the two bedroom apartment quietly. We were both tired and I knew tomorrow I had to go see Derek, once inside the building it wasn't hard to navigate to where we'd be staying, I dropped my case and bag in my room and walked out to see Vince laying on the couch.

"Unpack and get some rest, we're going out tomorrow." I let him know, he smiled and got up, "you excited? I mean about being back home not about your not-so-dead, dead uncle." He teased, I rolled my eyes at him before turning around, "ecstatic." I teased sarcastically back at him making the boy laugh.

Once I got to my room I relaxed, it was a nice place, actually really nice. The walls in my room were white but unfortunately because we were renting we couldn't paint anything or do any big changes but the general structure of the place was nice. When you first walked into the apartment, you were met with a small cloak room area for your shoes and jackets before walking into the living room. It was spacious and bright, it held a couple bookshelves, a TV, couch, a loveseat and a coffee table that was really just a big chest. The entire apartment was filled with Earth tones; the walls were beige, the ceiling had wooden beams, the couch was a dark brown, the floor was wooden with a soft green rug that acting as a map to lead you to all the rooms.

The kitchen was open, linked to the living room and to the right as you walked it, it had an island and all the necessary things with the same colour pallet as the living room. Finally in the main area there was a small dining table, big enough for a couple people and perfect for us.

Each room had its own connected bathroom and the last room was an office space that we'd agreed I would use for my work with tracking the alpha pack.

I unpacked what things I had into the dresser and closet space I was given, I cleaned the room up a bit and made it feel a bit more home-like before falling down onto my bed and immediately falling asleep.

The next morning I was up and immediately got up to get ready, taking a shower and getting dressed in a basic pain of jeans, a top and hoodie and finally a denim jacket and docs. Vince was already ready to leave by the time I had left my room, grabbing the keys to the apartment we both left.

"We're walking?!" He asked as I left the building and began walking in the direction of our destination, "yeah come on, it's not too far from here." I said, not looking back at Vince, he began to whine about wanting to see the town but I quickly told him that we'd do it another time after chucking at his antics.
