8:20am, Beacon Hills High School
"I hate you."
"No you don't." He laughed back at my statement, currently we were sitting in his car in the furthest corner of Beacon Hills High School.
"Yes I do." Derek had this dumb idea that I would go back into High School, back into my sophomore year so that I could keep an eye on any possible students because the alpha, now more than ever, was getting reckless and had bitten someone, probably a teenager.
I had an idea of why Derek wanted me to go back to school though and it was not solely because of the bitten teen; he wants me to try and be the girl I was before the fire, the girl before her parents deaths- murders. The teen I never got the chance to be. The teen who didn't have to grieve anymore people than she already did.
It was a bittersweet thought, last night still playing on my mind as much as I know it played on Dereks. He was trying to help me forget just a little and this 'side quest' was his way of doing so.
I smiled slightly at the thought.
"No you don't, you're smiling. Now hurry up or you'll be late." He leaned over and opened the door for me as I was being a brat and sitting like an upset child; crossed arms and crossed legs, not looking at anything other than the school in front of me.
"Fine, I'll go. What will you be doing while I'm playing school girl?" He sighed so I took it as a sign that he wanted me to leave quick. "I'll be searching the woods more for the alpha, now... go?" I laughed and nodded my head, bidding him goodbye.
I hadn't been to any school in about two years, dropping out at the end of freshman year so I had so do my sophomore year at the age of 17, but what people didn't know wouldn't hurt them. I walked though the doors and was hit with nostalgia, school wasn't anymore than I expected it or remembered it to be.
I walked to the office and told them that I was the last minute new kid, Derek had obviously phoned up in advance as the lady asked for my name and typed something into her computer, after a couple minutes of getting me ready with a time table and locker she sent me off. This felt weird and I felt completely out of place, people around me were standing talking to friends and catching up with people they not seen all summer and here I was all alone- not that I minded.
When I got to my locker I opened it up and shoved my bag inside, I only had brought a notepad and pen so my bag wasn't necessary but it soon would be when I got all my books from each class.
I wasn't in the place to be thinking about school right now, all I could think about was last night and mine and Dereks discovery of Laura, well, half of Laura.
