I winced as I heard grunts from the other side of the room, If I hadn't known that Captain Levi is beating the shit out of Eren I would think different. Yes just a normal day for me and my dirty mind.
"So! You're L/N huh? your actions were pretty suspicious even at the Government's eyes...what is it you're trying to do hmmm??" Hange teasingly asked, their smirk growing as I scoff at them.
"I simply wanted to kill some more titans. That is my only objective." I calmly answered. Truth be told I am literally sweating bullets right now, my hands were obviously shaking at the sudden question. Why would they ask me this?
"Oh! nevermind about that, but we haven't decided on what to do with you, since the whole Eren Jaeger thingie you'd probably be ignored by the law." They explain, giving me a white cloth and a bowl of water.
"Aside from that, let's wait for their arrival shall we?"
I gulped. This is my only chance to prove to them that I can be useful in terms of titan knowledge, thanks to the manga of course. I might be able help in any way I can without disclosing sensitive information that might change the future.
"Squad Leader Hange..I have to say something.." I trailed off, my hands preparing a salute.
"I am interested at the Titan origins as much as you do so..please take me into your squad!!" I proposed, bowing at them. I don't have any talents for combat or anything but maybe I could help Eren from the shadows..
"L/N...how can I guarantee that your skills can be beneficial to the Scout Regiment?" They asked. I widened my eyes in shock.
I am not part of the top ten...not at all...
I don't excel in anything...maybe I'm just a burden..
"I have shown pretty accurate predictions and titan theories at cadet corps Squad leader, maybe I can utilize it to use in future missions." I said, analyzing their constantly changing expression.
"Hmm...how about no?"
"B-But!"
"Cadet L/N I am interested at what you might give but given the current situations I am unable to cater your proposal." They bluntly replied.
I sighed. This is hopeless..
As I was about to walk out the door I was met with a pair of steel eyes. My breath stopped for a moment as I scramble to put a proper salute to the Captain.
"Captain Levi!" I said, smiling sadly as I see Eren's bruised and battered face.
"This is the kid that had gone AWOL?" He asked, ignoring my salute.
"Mhm! The record also said that she killed eight titans with a busted gear and no fuel. She's just like you Levi! but less aggressive.." Hange laughed at us but I only focused on Eren, sitting at the available seat on his left side.
"He beat you pretty hard huh.." I whispered, dabbing some cloth on his face.
"It was necessary anyways so I couldn't complain about it." He whispered back grabbing my hand to examine the bandage. His eyes soften at the sight of my injuries. Must've been blaming himself all along.
"I'm sorry..."
"Why would you be? You basically got eaten by a Titan and your saying sorry to me?" I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. Washing the dirty cloth and cleaning his wound again. I decided to ignore his words as I'm already focused on what to do to get them to take me in their regiment.
"You seem tense Y/n, are you okay?" The Titan shifter asked, only to follow my gaze towards the two higher ups.
"This is the longest conversation we had.."
He blurted out as my hands froze.
"Might be our last--" I mumbled, but the hardened glare of the Captain, stops me from talking any further.
"Man..talk about harsh.." Squad leader Hange said, kneeling down to take further inspection of Eren's tooth. I kept quiet, not wanting to interfere in their conversation.
"I bet it hurts.." The squad leader softly spoke, dabbing some cotton ball on Eren's face. "A little" He replied.
"Sorry about that. But it did get you placed in our custody though." The Commander bluntly said, gaining all of our attention.
"Yes" Eren shortly replied.
"The pain was worth it. Letting us play our trump card when it would be most effective." The Commander continued. His blue eyes found mine as he was about to talk to Eren.
I stayed at the back of the room, careful not to interfere with their conversation.
"Cadet L/n." Commander Erwin called, making me tense up. What did I do this time?
"S-Sir!" I shakily put up a salute in which he disregarded. He gestured me to sit beside the Titan shifter making me sigh in relief.
"I heard you greatly excel in titan theories, basically your predictions and intuitions would be of use, as I've heard from Squad Leader Hange Zoé you're a great catch. But your crimes as of now prevents you from doing that am I correct?" I frowned. Of course they would make a big deal about that, now how could I get closer to Eren if I go to jail?
"I have a proposal to make.." He said, taking my attention.
"You will be under Squad Leader Hange Zoé, which means that you'll be helping with their experiments, but don't think that you'll be getting away from your crimes. As a punishment for this, you'll be charged of taking care of Eren, making you bait if ever he goes out of control." He proposed, giving his hand out for me to seal the deal.
Being a titan bait huh...
Which means when Eren goes cuckoo I'll be the first one to die...
"Deal." I answered, shaking his hand.
This is a risky plan but since Marco's death the Witch and I basically severed a partial of our connection. I'm on my own this time.
Her so called gift will be my only weapon I can use to fight off the danger in this world. Still it's better than nothing.
"So we'll be working together?" Eren asked in disbelief, making me nod at him.
His wide eyes tell me otherwise but I think there's a hint of a little excitement in there.
"Depends if you kill me too early or not." I scoffed making him frown.
"SEE LEVI? SHE'S JUST LIKE YOU!!"
