Chapter 17 - Dungeon Guard

"Don't lose it okay? I trust that you'll be handling this one right Y/n?" The bubbly Squad leader said, to which I nodded.

It was the day where we get to meet the captured titans, Sawney and Bean. Both me and Moblit were tasked of preparing some materials to use during the experiment, not gonna lie it made excited to see Hange in action, or any of the characters at least.

"Hmmmm did the naming ceremony already passed? I think I missed it.." I mumbled to myself while putting some gunpowder in a tube, another experiment of theirs.

To my surprise, Moblit who was helping me answered. "Mhm! Section Commander Hange already named them Sawney and Bean, it was really weird for me though but I don't question their weird antics, probably just a trait of them." His eyes sparkled at the thought. Holding back the urge to laugh I decided to continue my task before saying goodbye to my squad and returning to my quarters. They already promised me that we'd get two meet their two favorite titans after an experiment with our shifter.

I was scheduled to return back to the camp at the afternoon where they held the two titans, for now my task was to help Eren clean the garden so that we could go together to meet Hange for his experiment.

"Man you really need some sleep huh?" I teased, seeing the teal eyed titan shifter trying his best to stay awake.

"Eh? I..what time is it?" He asked, unconsciously grabbing a pile of dirt to throw it in my direction.

3rd person POV

Y/n could only sigh at his condition, but despite this she decided to play nice for now, and ushered him to go take a nap under the shade of the tree, a blind spot that she found during their stay at the castle.

"You sure are hopeless Eren.." She thought to herself while finishing his task of cleaning up. Back home she wasn't really fond doing work outside, it was evident during her first year in the military, but alas after years until their graduation she finally decided that not doing anything couldn't guarantee survival.

Pulling some weeds here and there, watering the plants, cleaning up the mess and dirt, making sure that everything was organized the girl had to make sure that her work is satisfactory to the Captain's standards. Of course she lowkey wanted to impress her Captain.

It was very hot out today, not to mention the experiment that was bound to happen later, Y/n wasn't worried at all, but this was her first time working with the main character, it was quite overwhelming for her at least.

"Yo Eren! It's already afternoon! let's get to Hange before they go nuts." She casually called the boy but he wasn't responding.

Her obvious action was to nudge him awake but all she saw was his body, laying face down on the grass.

"Uhh...you dead my guy?" She lowly said, earning a grumble from the titan shifter. "Not dead, at least.." She muttered before sitting beside him.

"I already did your job for you, now don't be stubborn and let's go!!" The h/c haired girl called again, this time dragging him around.

"Let's stay here for a while.." He said, now facing the confused girl in front of him.

Y/n could not form words as she was still trying to process what he said. "You mentioned that you're from the southern village in wall Maria...what was it's name?" He suddenly asked, making her gulp at his question.

She doesn't even know the names of the villages in here let alone the south of wall Maria?

Her hands were pulling little shrubs of grass, constantly thinking of what to reply to her companion. "I...um...don't really know what to call my village but it's near a large forest..not really noticeable by the government so I don't think they would even bother naming it.." She lied, her eyes darting anywhere but Eren's.
