Jack tries to prepare himself the best he can. Getting his backpack and making sure he had anything Jay might need in a period of a few hours. Bottle of water. Some crackers. Band aids. Then Jack makes sure he has everything down on his shopping list, and plans out the best way to shop as to get things done fast and smooth.
He brings Jay a pair of socks and helps him put them on while he explains what they were gonna do.
"We need to go to a couple stores and get some important stuff, Jay."
"What importan' ?" Jay watches Jack on the floor, rolling the cuffs of the socks.
"Well. I need groceries. To feed you. You need clothes that fit," Jack chuckles at the socks. "And something for when you sleep. No more wet beds."
Jay's eyes got big and he nods. "No like."
"What?" Jack stands up. "Don't like what?"
"Mmm...acciden'." Jay frowns and looks down at the socks.
"I know buddy. But I'm gonna get you some help," Jack promises.
Jay slides off the sofa, wiggling his toes in the socks. "Where go?"
"Well first place is a nice pet store to get you some things." He tickles Jay's sides, making the boy giggle. "Then to the grocery store so we have lots of food." He pokes Jay's belly then before putting on the backpack and taking the boys hand.
Jay follows on his newly socked feet, curious to what was gonna happen at these stores.
Jack gets Jay into the back seat of his little blue sedan, and buckles him in. "Be good," he reminds the boy before going to the front seat. He drops his bag in the passenger seat and starts the car. "Want some music buddy?" Jack turns on the radio as Jay leans forward some, studying the big panel of buttons.
"Ooohh what do?" Jay reaches out for them, pulling on his seat belt.
"All kinds of stuff. Jay stop. Sit back and be still," Jack waits till Jay is sitting right before pulling out and joining traffic.
Jack keeps glancing back in his mirror, watching Jay squirm and fuss at his seat belt. "Leave it alone little boy. Hey. I said leave it alone."
"Mmnnnn," Jay struggles to find any words in his vocabulary, and pulls the vertical strap away from himself.
"Don't wanna hear it. You leave it on," Jack scowls at him.
Jay sags in his seat with a big pout, but leaves his seat belt alone.
"Good boy," Jack sighs softly and looks at his GPS that was taking him to the pet store Yelp had recommended. As traffic got heavy in the downtown area, Jack couldn't look back at Jay, but he could hear a rattling behind him. "Jay quit it!"
"Bell!" *click* *swish* "Ooops.."
Jack's grip tightens on the leather steering wheel, and he just focuses on getting a parking spot. He manages to park around behind the back and turn off the radio, just as Jay bounces forward with his hands on the middle console, excited.
"Where we?!"
Jack reaches back and smacks Jay's ass.
"OWIE!" The boy leaps back. "Mean!"
"You took your seat belt off. That's very naughty. Very bad." Jack scolds, glaring. "I told you over and over to leave it alone. Didn't I?"
Jay sinks into the seat and nods.
"Yeah. I did," Jack sighs.
"Neck."
"What?"
"Neck." He rubs a spot on his neck. It was abit red and irritated.
