Define Friends

Chapter 4

Right after her conversation with Collin, Sophia went to seek out Miranda, Nicole and Natalie.

"Hey guys." Sophia says.

"I can't believe you got paired with Collin!!" Miranda squealed.

"Yeah," Natalie interjects, "I totally ship you two as a couple."

"Me too," Nicole said.

"Wait! How do you know I have feelings for him?" Sophia asked.

"Well, it's kind of obvious with the way you act around him," Nicole explained.

Later that same day, Sophia was seeking out Collin. Secretly she was wanting to see him because she had a crush on him. She was thinking that he might have one on her too. Why else did he look so happy that they were paired up? Plus, she acted really weird... Regardless, she had to figure out an excuse for how she acted earlier before it was too late. Otherwise, it would be even weirder.

Sophia turns the corner and runs straight into him.

"Oof- Oh, hi Collin!"

"Hello..?" He recollects himself from the crash. His heart beating so loud, he was sure that even Sophia could hear it. That was scary.

"I wanted to say that I am sorry about how I acted earlier today. My coffee had not kicked in yet."

"How you... 'acted' earlier?" He asked in suspicion.

"Yeah, I was kinda mad I wasn't partnered with Preston."

"Really?" Collin looks at Sophia confused. Perhaps she was just overthinking it, might as well let her go to ease.

"Yes," Sophia admits. "I am really sorry about how I treated you. Can you accept my apology?"

He squinted, "I don't think there is anything to apologize for, but sure. I accept it."

"You want to go over to that ice cream place on the corner and go work on the final project?"

"Sure, why not?"
