Define Friends

Chapter 8

"I-it-it's you."

"Really?"

Stumbling over her words, "Yeah, I pretended to not have a crush because I was trying to fit in..."
"Oh, why didn't you drop it when you went here?" He asked back.

"Because... I'm trying to fit in? Also because I didn't want you to know either."

"Well Sophia..."

"What?"

"I have had a crush on you too." Collin said.

"Seriously?!"

"Yes, I just didn't know how to express myself towards you without knowing if I would be rejected." Collin said sullenly.

"You seriously thought that I would reject someone as hot as you?" Sophia yelled.

"Well..."

"Well Mister you really were mistaken."

"Ok, bu-"

"I would NEVER reject you! You should know that!" Sophia said loudly.

"Well how was I supposed to know that if neither of us expressed our feelings for the other?"

"You make a good point."

"Yes I know I do."

They sit together in awkward silence for a minute.

"Well," Collin says, breaking the silence. "What are we going to do moving forward?"

"I don't know."

Sophia storms out of the fort and starts towards the house. Collin grabs Sophia's hand with a bit more force than needed. Sophia struggles to rip her hand from his grasp.

"Well we really can't just be friends anymore now that we know this about each other s-"

"You SERIOUSLY think that I am just going to get over the fact that you have been harboring secret feelings for me all along?" Sophia yells angrily, still trying to pull her hand from Collin's grasp.

"Well I understand if you can't but, would you become my girlfriend?" Collin asks gingerly.

"UGH! YOU LYING, SLIM-"

Collin grabs Sophia and pushes her against a tree and kisses her. Sophia melts against Collin. They stay that way for about 5 minutes until Collin pulls away.
