Riley's POV
After I settled down I decided to go on my phone to pass the time, as I turned it on I saw a text from James.
J: Hey
I decide to respond.R: Hi, I've got some bad news....
J: What is it?
R: My parents said we might have to move, and I would go to a different school for half a year.
J: They shouldn't make you move schools you only have half a year left then your done!
R: I know but they don't understand my side of it.
I hear my mom coming upstairs and she knocks on my door.
R: I have to go.
"Come in..." I say.
"Riley, what's wrong?" My mom says.
"Everything is wrong, we now might have to move and then that's going to make my life worse." I feel tears starting up.
"You could make new friends..."
"For what half a year!? Besides I don't want to talk about it anymore..."
"Alright then I'll leave."
•••••James POV
The next day at lunch I sit with Riley and I can tell she's upset.
"You mad about the while moving thing?" I ask
"Yeah, I mean they should at least let me stay until I graduate then I can stay here and go to college on my own."
"I agree with you, but I'm sure it will all work out."
••••The next class I had with Riley but I realize that our teacher isn't here yet, something must be up. A couple minutes later she walks in with a girl with long brown hair and she seemed nice.
Riley's POV
When I saw someone new I knew this was my chance that I could make a friend, and there was only one seat left and it was beside me.
"Class, this is our new student and her name is Amanda." Mrs. Vanweerden says. Amanda just waves and the teacher points to the seat next to me and she walks over.
"My name's Riley." I say and put out my hand.
"Amanda." She shakes my hand.
"Where did you live before you came here?" I ask.
"I lived in Vancouver so I'm not that used to the times here yet." She smiles, but then everything changes cause Michelle's in the class.
"Amanda, I don't think you want to hang out with her." Michelle says and smirks.
"And why would I not want to do that?" Amanda says and I can tell that she has some attitude.
"Because do you see how she looks!?" Her words are stuck in my head and I try not to get mad.
"Maybe looks don't matter but the person inside does."
Michelle can't think of a comeback and just turn around and rolls her eyes.
