Riley's POV
There's 2 days until the prom and I still haven't gotten a dress and I'm kind of regretting it. School just finished and I asked Emily to pick me up today so we could go get a dress.
I see Emily's car and I walk over and open the door.
"How was school?" She asks.
"Good, it's been better since Michelle has stopped talking to me."
"I'm glad that she stopped and your happy." She smiled.
We arrived at the mall 5 minutes later and it wasn't far. I've had my eye on this one dress so we head to that store.
"There it is!" I say and walk over to it.
I ask the lady for a fitting room and she leads me to one and I put in the dress.
"Riley that's beautiful!" Emily says.
I look in the mirror and it was a turquoise dress that went to my knees.
I go back in and take it off and we head to the check out.

We head to the shoe store next and I find these white heels that go with the dress. I've tried on a couple and I feel like these would go the best.
"You're going to look so beautiful on Friday." Emily says.
"Thank you Emily!"

When I get home I step in the house and it's a lot quieter, I forgot that my Dad moved to his new job. It's been hard on my mom but I push that thought away and head to my room. I decided to store the dress in my closet and the shoes on a shoe rack underneath. I hear my phone buzz and I see a text from James.
J- Hey beautiful
R- Hey, can't wait for prom.
J- I know, your going to look beautiful.
R- that's what everyone's saying!
J- Well it's true!
R- thanks, my mom just got home I got to go see you tomorrow! xx
