"Hey, Jay", Blink greets, walking into the coffee shop. I looked around, awed at how nice it is. He went behind the counter and "bro-hugged" the guy.

You know how guys grab hands then wrap an arm around each other, resulting in a hug? Bro-hug.

"How's your day off been, Pirate?" I furrow my brows at the nickname. "Leaving me here alone with Cassandra and April Adams."

Blink rolls his eyes. "You'll live."

"Yeah, yeah", Jay says, punching Blink in the shoulder. He turns to me. "Who's this?"

"This is Mush."

"I'm Nick", I introduce myself, trying not to blush at the nickname. Jay smirked and shook my hand.

"He's that Nick?" I looked around awkwardly, trying not to make it seem like I'm eavesdropping. They were whispering to each other, but I could hear almost every word they were saying.

"So! Uh", Jay started, glancing at Blink. Gay eyepatch football player kid stared at him, mouthing, "Nick." Jay tried again. "What can I get you, Nick?"

"Anything with lemonade."

"We have these, like, lemon tea concoctions. Wanna try one?"

"Concoction doesn't sound very promising, but I'm down."

He smiled and turned around, Blink coming back to my side of the counter. We stood as Jay made my drink just as more people started coming in.

"Louis, I'm assuming you want what you steal every morning?" Blink laughs.

It's weird hearing his real name. No one I know really uses it, so hearing it feels wrong, even though I know it's right. Jay looked at me. "Pirate, here, likes to pretend to pay for his coffee."

I smirk at Blink, who rolls his eye. "Theft is a crime, Louis."

He blushed. "I work, so I deserve compensation."

"Says every employee ever."

"I do the work, so I should have a say in what I can have from the job."

"And what will you do if you don't get what you deserve?"

"I'll strike."

I smile at him as Jay places my drink on the counter. "Here you are, Nick. Strawberry lemon tea."

"Thanks", I say, grabbing the drink off of the counter. I turn to see Blink standing there, hands by his side. "You okay?"

"Yep", he replies, staring at Jay intensely. "Just...waiting for my drink."

Jay hummed as I looked between them. "I'm just waiting for your money."

I quietly sipped my drink as I watched this entire ordeal. What? I'm not going to interfere with something as dumb as this.

Plus, Jay has a point.

They stared at each other, the line behind us standing in patience. I could tell they were trying not to yell at us. I was trying not to yell at us.

How long were we going to stand here? I take out my phone and glance at the time: 5:15am.

Blink eventually sighs and pulls out his wallet, taking out ten dollars. "Here."
