I would like to state that Mush's mother is written as homophobic as an excuse to the real reason she doesn't appreciate her son. You'll find out the real reason later in the chapter.—————————————————————
Blink and I spent the school day in silence with each other. We didn't greet each other in the hallway, or stop by the others locker. We basically ignored each other.
And I think our friends were starting to catch on.
"So, Nick", Davey starts, eating a salad. "How have classes been treating you since you've come back?"
I shrug, playing over macaroni and cheese. "Fine, I guess. Just a lot more work."
I can feel the worried looks he and Specs are giving me. "Do you want to come over to my place after school? Nana's making gumbo."
On any normal day, I would take up that offer. "No, thank you. I think I'll just chill at...home."
Now everyone is staring at me. "How are you feeling?" I look over to Jack.
"Fine."
"And your head? No headaches?" I nod to Race.
"What have you been doing recently?" I stare blankly at Finch.
"I think we should layoff the questions, guys", Elmer says, and I will be forever thankful for this human being. "He just got back. Let's just act like it's a normal day."
And thank God for our wacky kind of normal. "I shoved a french fry up Spot's nose yesterday."
We all turn to look at Race, Specs and Henry laughing. "Why?"
He shrugged, taking a bite of his macaroni and cheese. "I just felt like it. We wrestled each other until he pinned me down and kissed me."
He turned to Albert, glaring slightly. "And that was it."
He put his hands up and smirked. "I didn't say anything."
"Well, Dave and I went on a date", Jack announces, getting applause from the table. "And we both realized something."
"We are not equipped for dates", Davey finishes, chuckling. "Like, at all."
"What happened?"
"There's a slight possibility everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong until we decided to get burgers and milkshakes from Medda's diner", Jack laughed. "I had so much fun, though."
"Me too, love", Davey responds, staring into Jack eyes. The shorter blushes and looks away quickly, causing all of us to laugh.
"Specs finally watched 'Saiki K' with me", Romeo says, a proud smile on his face. Specs rolls their eyes. "I think they enjoyed it."
"I only like Saiki", they say, crossing their arms. "He's the only character that doesn't want to make me fall asleep in boiling soup."
I laugh at their dramatics. "Sounds like you two had fun."
The bell rings like it always does, causing all of us to stand up and walk to the trash cans about of of the cafetorium.
Blink and I keep a small distance.

I was writing down everything Decade Declan was telling us, and he actually seemed to be on topic with what we were supposed to be learning. I guess everything's upside down.
My mind is clouded with everything that's happened during the past two weeks. I feel guilty, pained, and saddened, and it seems I have no times for anything else. I wish I could think of something else.
