Since I fell asleep really early last night, I woke up at the break of dawn. It was kind of annoying but a good thing. Today, at least, I wouldn't be late for school. I yawned as I rolled out of bed and changed into some fresh clothes. I crept down the hallway and peered into my sister's room and found that she was still asleep, so I made myself breakfast.

After eating, I brushed my teeth and grabbed my backpack. I slung it over my shoulder, opened the door... and screamed. Right in front of my face was Dallas. He stared at me wide eyed, probably as surprised as I was, except instead of screaming he threw his head back and laughed.

"Dude! Oh my god your FACE! " He could barely breathe. I rolled my eyes and exclaimed, " What where you doing? Why were you in front of my door in the first place? "

He was about to answer but stopped short as we heard stomping sounds coming from inside my house. My sister appeared out of the hallway and gave us such a deadly glare that both me and Dallas took a step back. " What do you think you two are doing?!" She growled, scratching her head. "Do you realize it's like six in the morning?"

Dallas grinned and turned to me saying, "Oh, yeah. It was just a misunderstanding... I was just about to sneak into your house when you decided to wake up early and nearly trampled me. Oh, and by the way, aren't you like, 16? You literally screamed like a girl."

I was about to give Dallas a good socking, but my sister, still yelling us, had shooed us out and shut the door behind us. And locked it. We couldn't go into Dallas' place, or his parents would throw a fit, and the buses didn't come for another hour or so, so that gave us no choice but to go to school two hours early.

We finally made it to school, and by that time we were kind of exhausted. We walked up to the doors and luckily, they were unlocked. We slipped into the school, and found that there wasn't a student in sight. The place was crowded with custodians and teachers, bustling about to get ready for the day. As they rushed by they gave us dirty looks, as if we didn't belong here. Dallas and I decided to hang out in the library until school started. I sighed tiredly and rubbed my eyes, really irritated. What's worse, getting to school super early or super late?

When school had ended, Dallas met me at my locker as usual. But this time, I didn't go home with him. I decided to go by myself and take a walk through the woods. I was exhausted and wanted to give my groggy head a break. When we made it out, we waved goodbye and parted ways.

I walked down on the dirt path breathing in the fresh air. My headache was still there, but it was already starting to feel better. I walked down the trail until I made it to a nice, large clearing. There was no trees except for one giant one in the middle. Around it were wooden benches for resting on. Still tired from this morning, I layed down on the cool, hard bench. It wasn't as comfortable as my bed, but I didn't want to wait. I rested my hands under my head and looked up at the sky. My vision started to get blurry, but I didn't seem to notice. In moments, I was starting to snore...

I slowly opened my eyes. I looked around, expecting to be in my room. Instead, all I saw were trees. I bolted upright, memories coming back to me in a flash. It was really dark by now, and the moon was just above my head. I started to freak out. In the middle of the woods, at night? Nope. No thanks. Who knows what kind of creepy things are out here at night?

I started to get up, but froze. Directly in front of me, hazel eyes blazing, was a massive wolf. Its silky dark gray pelt glistened in the moonlight as it stood, as still as a statue. I couldn't move. What should I do? I stood very still, hoping I wouldn't aggravate it. I slowly started to back up, but as I turned my head, there was more. Two more wolves stood there, staring vividly at me. They weren't as big, and with light gray pelts, but still looked about just as menacing as the other one. My blood went cold. The wolf I had seen first growled softly and started to advance slowly towards me. I looked around, panicking. I saw one way out. I knew what I should do. Bolting right, I all out sprinted as fast as my legs could carry me.

Behind me, I could hear the wolves barking at me, and the trampling of paws in the mud. I had left the path now, and now I had no idea which way was home. I began to run in all different directions, the animals in hot pursuit. One wrong move, and I'd be dinner. But right when that thought had processed in my brain, I swear I jinxed it.

Before I knew it, I had been stopped by a large mound of dirt. It sort of looked like a hill chopped in half. I slammed against it, trembling. I never thought that this was the way I would die. In fact, I never really thought about it, until now. My breathing came out in stuttering gasps, and every second the wolves were closing in on me. When the wolves were just about 10 paces away, something extraordinary happened.

My skin went very cold. I turned as pale as a ghost. My eyes fluttered shut as I collapsed to the ground. I had fainted. Right I front of a group of creatures who wanted to rip me to shreds. All I know is one thing: I'm doomed.
