Saloma in a crimson red dress.
She stood in front of the people looking at her, grasping the microphone as if her life depended on it.
"You ready?" The familiar voice she had always known since high school asked her.
"Always. Let's do this."
Gwen's bakery, 2 months before the wedding.
Our scene is at nightfall. Julian had promised Gwen that he was going to meet her at the bakery for some weird reason two hours after closing time for who knows why.
(Friendly reminder: This scene onwards will all be before the wedding. You did not see a ghost if you see Rose. Cheers.)
The doorbell rang.
Gwen ran to the door from the kitchen to see the boy wonder himself. Cladded himself in a dark, black and blue hoodie and jeans, he looked at her by the eyes before apologizing. "I'm sorry I was late, was going to rush to this place quickly but there were some problems at the subway?"
She didn't look amused. "Then you could've picked me up at home instead of here? I've not even taken a shower and all yet."
"Believe me when I say that was on purpose." He looked as if he would throw a flirt or two, even though she could see otherwise.
"Why so? You intend to bring me somewhere?"
"Not a place of elegance, though. But yes."
She smiled at her junior. "Well then, shall you lead the way?"
A place in the north, outside the city of New York.
Gwen knew one thing. Out of all the places that Julian would bring her to, none of them would be something like the great outdoors, cause Julian wasn't that kind of person to stay that way.
Where did he bring her, in all fact?
A hidden garden spot that led to a beautiful sight of the bright skies above. The seas below the cliff, the stars above at an early 8 o'clock in the evening, it felt romantic, for some.
"So, what are we here for? Surely you didn't invite me here just to watch the stars above?" Gwen asked him, to no avail from her junior.
His eyes kept looking at the skies, as if he was expecting something.
"I remember that there was something like shooting star storm or something that was supposed to be happening today."
"A meteor shower, or shooting star storm? That did not sound right, for some reason." She nudged him with her arm to his shoulder, for him to laugh back.
"I'm not sure about the specifics," Julian noted. "All I know is that tonight should be beautiful for this dark sky."
He threw a few sandwiches he had made so that she didn't get hungry, in a gesture that didn't feel bad nor having other intent at all.
In all honesty, Gwen didn't know what kind of person Julian was anymore by now. He loved to be the romantic, but at times he didn't look like one anymore because of how many times he had been hurt by love.
Even through the many times that he wanted to be the romantic one just for the sake of the mood, it felt funny for her that he would make the effort, and yet sometimes it felt as if he was lost and she was just that anchor for him to keep on living for now.
"What happened between you and Daphne? Everything alright between y'all in LA?" She suddenly asked him, for him to breathe out a sigh and continue watching the stars.
"Everything should be fine as it is, but I don't know, to be honest," He looked distressed. "Like, I don't know whether she should be the one for me? That's the main question for me right now in our relationship."
