The only place you know to go is your mother's. You'll leave Kie there and then go your own way.

Smoke fills the air as you guys walk all the way to your mother's house. Both of you begin to cough but thankfully, you're almost there. You are also in pain, but you are learning to endure it as you keep moving.

"I'm sorry." You say aloud, and she glances at you.

"What will you do once we're there?" Kie asks, getting the feeling she knows what you'll do regardless of the answer.

There is silence that hangs in the air between you until you answer. "I need you to stay with my mom at my house. When this is all over, I'll come back for you."

She gets offended, stopping in her tracks. "No way. I'm not leaving."

"Do you want to die, Kie? Cause if you stay with me, that's what's bound to happen. So if you could please just stay with her..." You keep walking. "I'm sorry. I am. I just need you to do this for me."

"Gojou is dead." Kie blurts out randomly. "Getou told me the other night. I wasn't sure when...or what to tell you."

You stop walking and your eyes widen at her words, but then the expression on your face changes, your nose wrinkling. "I refuse to believe anything that backstabber says. He's a liar. What reason do I have to believe that? Gojou is not dead."

Kie looks down at her feet. Getou still has her wrapped around his finger, but she hasn't had time to actually sit and realize it.

You begin walking and Kie follows after you, catching up and grabbing hold of you again.

Finally, you're here.

You knock on the door, trying to wait patiently for an answer. She answers not long after the knock.

The smile she held on her face moments before, is gone. "What happened?" She pulls you both in quickly, looking around before shutting the door and locking in.

"I don't have time to explain, but we have to get to my house. I'm going to hide you guys, and then leave. But I'll be back after." As you start saying this, your mother is shaking her head in response, confused.

"I don't understand. What's going on? I need to know before I can agree to do something like this. If something happened and you're going off on your own to pull some reckless shit, I need to know." Your mother is trying to understand, but you can't handle this right now.

Walking away, your eyes lay upon her boyfriend. "Is everything okay?" He then asks.

"Please. I don't have any time to explain. Just trust me. We go to my house, then I hide you down in the safe house. I can explain everything afterward. I'm about to explode." You ramble.

Everybody is looking at you. Your mom's boyfriend is quick to oblige and begins looking for the car keys. "Let's go."

You smile at your mom softly, and she does the same thing. You know she's just worried about you, and you feel really bad about having to do this. There's no telling if you'll even come back at all.

Feeling guilty just by looking at her, you look away and start walking.

Thankfully, everything goes well as of now, and you make it to your house. Nobody said anything on the ride here, which made you worried at first. But you know what you have to do, and you can't let emotions get in the way.

You also can't stop thinking about Gojou being "dead". There is no way he's dead. Absolutely not. But there is a part of you that wouldn't be surprised. Everybody always talked about him, and now his name is rarely tossed around.
