You stand in front of the mirror, looking at every inch of the white clothing covering your body. The anxiety is starting to kick in.
Right now, Satoru Gojou is waiting downstairs waiting for you to come down. There was still a good bit until it was time, thankfully.
"Feeling nervous?" Kei walks up in her beautiful dress. She wraps her arms around your figure and smiles into the mirror at you.
"Yeah. I was fine at first, but now it's getting so close. But I know there are only a few of us, so that doesn't bother me too much. I'm ready to do this." You say, nodding while trying to contain yourself.
The door opens and you look over, seeing your mother walking in. "Hi, oh my god, you look so beautiful."
She's admiring your dress and makeup. But then she begins to cry. "You've come so far in life, and I am proud of you. I love you so much." Your mother caresses your cheek carefully with her hand.
"Don't make me cry right now." You could feel the tears coming but you had to hold them back.
"Okay, I'll head back down there with the others. You got this." She assures you with her signature smile and she kisses the side of your head before leaving.
Kei smiles and she also leaves, but to use the restroom. It left you all alone with your thoughts.
But all this thinking only made the time go by faster.
Soon enough, music is playing in the background and you and Kei are standing at the bottom of the stairs.
She locks her arms with yours and you two look at each other. "Are you ready, partner?"
You look at her with a kind smile. "Yeah."
Both of you start walking together and then you finally walk around the corner, your eyes laying upon Gojou. His eyes widen the moment he sees you and tears are welling in his eyes.
His immediate thought is how beautiful you are.
Never in his entire life did he ever imagine getting this far with anybody. And after he thought you died, he was ready to end it all. There was just something holding him back.
You're scared to look at him yet, but when you look up from the ground, you're now directly in front of him.
He's looking directly at you, not able to move his eyes off you.
Kei leaves your side and allows you to be alone with Gojou. He has a wide smile on his face. Everyone takes a seat now and Yaga, the preacher, is ready to get this over with.
It was quite difficult for Gojou to get his old teacher as his preacher, but he knows how much it means to him, so here he is standing here in front of you both today.
"I love you." Gojou whispers.
"Welcome family and friends. We are gathered here today to witness and celebrate the marriage of Satoru and Y/n. This is not the beginning of a new relationship but an acknowledgment of the next chapter in their lives together. Today, they will affirm their bond formally and publicly." He speaks up. "Will you, Y/n and Satoru's friends and family, surround them in love, offer them the joys of your friendship, and your support in their marriage? If so, respond with, we will."
The very few people there respond in unison. Yaga nods.
You're sweating but you can't get rid of the smile on your face, staring into Gojou's beautiful eyes.
"It is now time for the bride and groom to make a commitment to one another." Yaga waits a moment before continuing, looking at both of you. Neither of you has taken your eyes off of each other. "Satoru, do you take this woman to be your wife, to live together in matrimony, to love her, to honor her, to comfort her, and to keep her in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?"
"Y/n, do you take this man to be your husband, to live together in matrimony, to love him, to honor him, to comfort him, and to keep him in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." You say with full confidence.
Gojou wants to grab and kiss you, ready to just be married already. But he wants to do this the right way.
"Place this on his finger and repeat after me..." Yaga clears his throat after handing you the ring. There is nobody else up here but you two. Yaga says what he needs to say.
"With this ring I, Y/n, take you, Satoru, to be no other than yourself. Loving what I know of you, and trusting what I do not yet know, I will respect your integrity and have faith in your abiding love for me, through all our years, and in all that life may bring us." You're grinning as you say these words. It fits you two so perfectly.
Gojou gets ready to repeat this as well, but he takes a moment to pause, so he doesn't break down. "With this ring I, Satoru, take you, Y/n, to be no other than yourself. Loving what I know of you, and trusting what I do not yet know, I will respect your integrity and have faith in your abiding love for me, through all our years, and in all that life may bring us."
"I now pronounce you husband and wife." Yaga bows and takes a step back.
Your husband wastes no time in grabbing your face carefully and placing his lips upon yours.
There is clapping erupting from the chairs and you smile into the kiss. You're really married now. To Satoru. You now hold the Gojou name now. You love him.
"You carry my last name now..." Gojou is looking longingly into your eyes as he pulls away.
Nodding, you offer a sweet kind smile. "I'm so in love with you, Satoru. I don't want us to ever go through anything like what we've been through, ever again." You whisper.
Gojou is holding back tears. Today is a good day, he will not ruin it by telling you what he had learned days prior about the Zen'in clan. He hasn't even mentioned it to Megumi yet.
"Never again." He says, kissing you passionately.
