- Saturday -
Vernon gave another detention to John, because the boy just can't seem to shut up. I mean, his comment about whether or not Barry Manilow knew that Dick raided his wardrobe was pretty funny.
Not that I'll ever tell him.
We don't need his ego to inflate more.
When Vernon finally left the library, I gently pushed my chair back and put my Doc Marten's on the table with a loud thud.
"That's very ladylike." Brian muttered as I flipped him off. The two of us chuckling softly as a clicking sound came from behind us.
Allison Reynolds was biting her nails and - honestly - I don't care enough to make a comment.
Not like John.
"If you keep eating your hand, you're not going to be hungry for lunch."
The girl spat her nails at him, making me snort while John smirked at her.
To each their own, right?
Grabbing my bag, I took out my very worn-out Stephen King's book, The Shining, and made myself comfortable. Or as comfortable as the fucking chair would let me.
"What are you reading?" Brian asked as I showed him the cover of my book.
It was an old copy, it was barely holding together if it wasn't for the amount of tape I had put on the cover.
The book belonged to my dad, before he went to prison and died. It's worn out and has annotations in the margins along with drawings from when he read it the first few times. It's one of the only physical things I have from him, the other one being a coffin shaped locket that I wore around my neck everyday. It had a picture of him and I inside, both of us smiling, not knowing it would be the last few minutes spent together before the police hauled his ass to jail.
Shaking my head, my attention was brought towards Bender who was humming rather loudly only to piss off Claire and Andrew.
As he should.
"I can't believe this is really happening to me." The redheaded told Andrew as I tried my hardest not to roll my eyes. She talks about detention as if it was going to affect her perfect attendance.
Her daddy could probably pay her way through college without it ever hurting his bank account. He practically wipes his ass with money.
Humming along with Bender, I could tell Andrew Clark was getting mad at us. Especially when we decided to see who could hum the loudest. It caused Brian to nudge me in the ribs with wide eyes.
"A'right. I'll stop." I muttered as Bender smirked at me, a glinted of mischief in his brown eyes.
"Ah shit!"
"What are we supposed to do if we have to take a piss? If you got to go, you got to go." He said.
I heard the sound of a zipper coming undone, making me raise an unimpressed eyebrow at him.
Is he serious? He can't be fucking serious.
"Reel it back in, Bender. This ain't the place." I told him as he simply winked at me. I'm all for pissing people off but this is another level... I guess that's John Bender to you.
"Hey, you're not urinating in here man." Andrew Clark said with anger.
"Don't talk, don't talk. It makes it crawl back up." John stated with a smirk.
"You whip it out and you're dead before the first drop hits the floor."
Brian was looking under John's table, curious to know if the criminal was actually going to pee. Smacking him behind the head, I couldn't help but chuckle when he flipped me off.
"Didn't know you were batting for the other team, Bri." I whispered in his ear as the blonde's cheeks turned bright red.
"I'm-m not!" He defended himself which only had me grinning and hitting his shoulder. I liked teasing him, he's always so responsive to my words.
"You're pretty sexy when you get angry." John teased while zipping his pants back up.
Snorting, I smirked at Bender who couldn't help but chuckle at the noise I made. Claire, who hadn't said a word until now, decided to just give me a dirty look.
Fight me, bitch.
"Hey! Homeboy!" John called out as Brian lifted his head up from my shoulder. Both of us looking at John, the blonde with confusion and me with annoyance.
If you gonna call someone out at least call out their name. It's a pussy move if you don't.
"Why don't you go close that door. We'll get the prom queen impregnated. You too, sweetness."
"You couldn't handle me, Bender." I warned him as he purred towards me while I sent him a wink. Although, I'd rather be not involve me in his shit.
"Hey. Hey!" Andrew said as Claire looked at John, fury written in her eyes.
"If I lose my temper, you're totalled, man."
"Totally?"
"Totally."
"Why don't you shut up? Nobody here's interested." Claire told the long haired boy before turning her back to him.
Am I really going to get myself into this?
"Speak for yourself, cherry." I stated as John smirked.
The answer is, yeah.
Can't let John have all the fun, can I?
"No one asked for your opinion."
"And no one asked you to talk but look at you running you mouth like you own the place."
"Ouhh, girl fight." John teased as Brian stifled a laughter. A small smile made my lips twitch as Claire huffed, her cheeks growing red with embarrassment and annoyance.
"How 'bout you close that door, and I'll show you what a real girl fight looks like, pretty boy."
John tossed his hair back, a small blush creeping on his cheeks as I winked at him. The brunette shook his head, a smile appearing on his face as I hide the grin behind my book. There's something about seeing a guy blush that has my insides doing backflips.
Especially a guy like John Bender.
