Wednesday, 6:00 AM

Taehyun wakes up with a headache and puffy eyes, the result of crying all night because of the dumb fight he had with Beomgyu. He silently gets up from Yeonjun's bed and sighs in relief when he notices the older is still sleeping soundly. The entire room was pitch black so the blonde boy finds it difficult to walk without bumping into something (both Soobin and Yeonjun were too lazy to clean their room sometimes). But despite the darkness, he soon manages to get out of the room without waking any of his friends up.

Taehyun decides that going back to sleep is too bothersome and walks up to the kitchen to make some coffee, his mind slowly embracing his usual empty morning thoughts. It always happens when he wakes up too early, random and loose ideas start to take over his mind and before he even notices it, he'll be questioning the simplest things in life. With a mug in one hand and his cell phone in the other, Taehyun makes his way to the living room, instantly getting wrapped up by the darkness of the dawn. When he turns on his phone's flashlight, he sees a dark silhouette in the corner of the room and almost drops his coffee.

"Shit! You scared me..."

Sitting on his usual spot was Beomgyu, looking like a statue while his shiny eyes were fixed on a random corner of the room as if he was traveling in another dimension inside his mind.

"H-hey, thought you were a ghost or something... hahaha."

Taehyun scolds himself for stuttering and laughing like an absolute idiot. On the other hand, Beomgyu stays silent, completely ignoring the other boy's existence. It wasn't a coincidence people normally feared the older so much: his emotionless face and sharp eyes can sometimes trigger some kind of red flag to most people, who believe the ravenette to be a mean and grumpy person. Now thinking about it, maybe Taehyun was the only one who didn't fear the older.

"Why aren't you asleep?"

Taehyun asks to relieve the awkward tension between them but, as expected, he receives no answer. Without thinking further, Taehyun sits down in the other corner of the room and turns off his flashlight, leaving the two boys surrounded by darkness.

"He seems to be too tired to fight", Taehyun thinks to himself. The idea of going back to Yeonjun's room wasn't too pleasing, so Taehyun just stands there, drinking his coffee as his eyes get used to the dark and his surroundings start to take definite forms, even though most of them still looked like shadows.

Suddenly, he hears Beomgyu take a deep breath and click his tongue.

"Kang Taehyun." His words leave his lips like a weak and light blow and Taehyun takes a whole minute to realize the other was calling his name.

"Choi Beomgyu?" The blonde asks back, a little embarrassed.

"I..."

Beomgyu wants to say something, but he just can't get his words out. Taehyun straightens his spine and pays attention to the older, the cup of coffee in his hands already empty.

"Everything I'll say right now in the dark stays in the dark. You cannot use the words I'm about to say against me after we talk. You can only keep them in your memory, do you understand?"

Taehyun feels like there was no need to answer, so he just waits for the other boy to finish what he wants to say.

"I'm sorry. I didn't measure my words. I'm sorry I made you cry."

Taehyun tries to suppress the chuckle that is dying to leave his mouth but the situation is too funny for him not to laugh. If Beomgyu just wanted to apologize why was he being so dramatic about it? His weird rules and serious tone just made everything more hilarious from Taehyun's point of view.

"I accept your apology. I think I cried because school has been stressing me out..." Taehyun cheaply lies while rubbing his neck.

As expected, Beomgyu doesn't answer back. Taehyun then gets up and walks towards his room without saying goodbye, his head full of many thoughts. But only one reflection stood stuck in his mind: Beomgyu apologized for something the younger started. He set aside his horrible pride just to say he's sorry, so Taehyun felt like today was a victory. And then suddenly another thought came to his mind.

Maybe he didn't hate Beomgyu as much as he thought he did.
