Sunday, 1:00 am

Beomgyu takes a deep breath and looks at the flight of stairs in front of him with empty eyes, a strange yet familiar feeling haunting his chest as he wonders what will happen when he reaches Taehyun's room. He tries not to let the vivid memories from the last few hours invade his mind – he really does– but as soon as he takes the first step of the stairs, he feels his guts clenching and hands trembling. He wasn't ready to face Taehyun yet. Is he sleeping? What do I say to him? Did he notice me crying? These were the questions that floated through Beomgyu's mind as he was about to climb the last steps. Do I just ask him if he's okay and then go to sleep? I don't want this to be awkward...

In a blink of an eye - and faster than Beomgyu intended to - he reached Taehyun's room and he had to take another deep breath before curling his fingers into a fist and knocking on the door two times. He doesn't hear anything so he takes the little bit of courage that he has left to slowly open the door, only for it to reveal another figure standing still on the foot of Taehyun's bed.

"Yeonjun?" Beomgyu asks in a quiet tone as he notices Taehyun's body lying silently underneath the sheets indicating he's asleep. "What are you doing here?"

Beomgyu then watches as the older boy averts his eyes to the ground and opens his mouth in slow motion "I was hoping he wasn't sleeping yet. I came to apologize."

As soon as he hears that, Beomgyu's shoulders get lighter and it is as if all the anxiety he had before entering the room is gone. Without thinking too much about it, Beomgyu approaches Yeonjun and gives him a quick hug. "It's okay," Beomgyu whispers, and even though the hug is over, his hand is still placed on Yeonjun's shoulder. "It wasn't even your fault and I know Taehyun isn't mad at you. But he's resting right now so it's better if you guys talk tomorrow don't you think?"

Yeonjun shows a little smile and nods his head in agreement. But it was when he was ready to get up and leave that a thought crossed his head and he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.

"What are you doing here, Beomgyu?"

Beomgyu is too quick to reply "Kai has been in the bathroom for half an hour so I thought I could steal Taehyun's bathroom for a few minutes." He smiles. "I'll be out in a second."

Yeonjun nods his head, totally believing Beomgyu's cheap lie, and starts to walk towards the door with small steps so he won't wake Taehyun up. "Goodnight, see you tomorrow!", he says before closing the door and making his way towards his own room.

Beomgyu sighed and looked at the blonde figure who was curled up in bed with the blankets covering his face. I hope he's okay... Beomgyu decides to turn off the light and use the bathroom to brush his teeth and change into his pajamas. It was very late at night and Beomgyu was tired, so he took his time in the bathroom. When he gets out, he gets startled when he sees that the lights are back on and there's a pair of eyes looking his way, right into his soul.

"Thought you died there. You were taking too long." He takes a good look at Beomgyu's astonished face. "You didn't really think I was asleep, did you?"

Beomgyu gave him a little smile. "Not really"

Taehyun didn't smile back, as he was too tired to do anything. "Good. Now get over here, I want to turn off the lights."

Beomgyu does as he's told and lies next to Taehyun in bed, careful not to be too close but at the same time too far as he knows Taehyun needs warmth to fall asleep and he wants to make sure Taehyun had a good night of sleep today. A minute had passed and not a single word had been spoken, but then Beomgyu watched in the dark as Taehyun turned over, his body now facing him and two glowing eyes now looking in his direction. When their eyes meet, he feels speechless. Taehyun gets a little bit closer.

"Thank you for helping me there. I'll forever be grateful to you."

That was it. Taehyun doesn't have to say another word for Beomgyu's face to contort into a grimace of pain and his eyes start watering compulsively. He knows they're in the dark, but he still covers his face with both of his hands, afraid that Taehyun will see his shiny tears reflecting in the dark. At some point, he just closes his eyes and lets his tears silently roll down his face, all the anxiety he had accumulated for the last few hours dissipating as he cried silently. A few seconds later, his running nose makes it impossible to breathe so he takes a deep breath and regrets it right away as a shaky stutter leaves his mouth and now he knows for sure Taehyun knows he's crying. He tries to breathe more calmly, but it's no use when he keeps sobbing like a crybaby. That's it, now he's definitely seeing me cry. This is embarrassing. But then Beomgyu pays close attention to the noises around him and hears a sniffle leave Taehyun's mouth, so he takes his hands off his face to look at him. When their eyes meet again, Beomgyu notices tears streaming down Taehyun's face and he feels his throat closing up, Taehyun's crying face making him want to cry again.

And he doesn't have to think much to let his body act on his own, his arms making their way to Taehyun's waist to pull him closer and hug him properly for the first time in forever. He feels Taehyun's face colliding with his chest and puts one of his hands behind Taehyun's head, gently caressing his hair as they cuddle while crying. And it was in that bubble of tiredness and sorrow that Beomgyu felt like expressing his feelings without feeling scared for the first time in a while.

"Don't ever do that again. You scared the crap out of me." He whispered while hugging Taehyun tightly

"I won't, I promise."

I'm so so so so so so sorry for the delay, I finished my second year of University a few days ago but I had a writer's block and it was so hard for me to write anything ahaha I can't even explain it properly, I just know that I have the whole story in my mind but some of the chapters are more difficult to write for some unknown reason.

Also, I really want to edit this whole story, I started writing sweet chaos a long time ago and I feel like some of the chapters aren't at their full potential yet, but then I get sad because most of the comments in each paragraph would disappear and get lost in the general comment section so yeah I'm a little bit conflicted.

To sum up, this chapter is also not on its full potential so I'll probably be editing it in a few days ahaha

I hope you enjoy it and I'm starting to write the next one already so this way I won't procrastinate hehehehe (like mate, stop procrastinating)
