"I'm so stupid..."

Taehyun whispers as his concerned eyes follow Eunwoo's slim figure running on the field. His face showed no emotion and Taehyun accepts that as a coping mechanism for what had happened the day before. Nobody would dream that that composed and focused Eunwoo that was playing very defensively, studying his opponent's behavior and creating mental strategies based on their moves, had the worst night of his life just a few hours ago. And that was all thanks to the blonde boy that was silently watching him from the bench.

Having a charming face and an aura of a prince, Eunwoo never had problems when it comes to dating. Everyone liked him and he took pride in that matter, forming his whole personality around other people's convictions as a way to improve himself as a person. The confident Eunwoo that was always followed by a bright smile and an easy-going personality had never been rejected in his whole life.

Not until yesterday.

And Taehyun could tell the older wasn't happy at all by the glare he received during the game's break. Only if looks could kill, Taehyun would be a dead man...

"I'm glad that's a statement and not an actual question," Kai answers with his usual sassy tone, his attention on his phone rather than on the game happening in front of his eyes.

Taehyun sighs, his eyes making their way back to Eunwoo. He observes as the taller boy dribbles the ball for a few seconds, successfully dodging two players from the other team, and throws it in Beomgyu's direction, the ball rotating in the air almost flawlessly to the ravenette's hands. Taehyun presses his lips nervously and looks away to the ground, memories of last night immediately haunting his thoughts.

"Spit it up Taehyun, those puppy eyes can't trick nobody." Soobin brings the blonde back to his senses with his soft voice. "Did you and Eunwoo fight or something?"

"Yeah, something like that..." Taehyun says out of habit but soon lets out a frustrated sound. "No... It was worst than that, way worst."

"What happened?" Kai asks curiously, his phone long forgotten.

"Eunwoo asked me to be his boyfriend."

Soobin and Kai instantly share a look, both confused as to why Taehyun looked so devastated.

"That's a good thing... Right?" Soobin asks carefully.

"It's wonderful." Taehyun answers with a frustrated tone, his eyes going back to the dark-browned-haired boy on the field. "He's so sweet, healthy, play sports, and makes everyone around him happy. Being his boyfriend would be magical..."

"Then what's the problem?"

"The problem is..." Taehyun bites his lip, his voice leaving his mouth in a whisper. "I said no."

"You what!?" Soobin asks, genuinely surprised.

"I said no. And he wasn't expecting that. I wasn't expecting that! I don't know what happened... When he asked me that question my brain just froze and my mouth spoke for itself, like, right after he asked me. Oh god, that's even worst! It's like I had this little monster at the back of my head saying I shouldn't date him..." Taehyun looks at his friends for comfort. "I hate myself."

Soobin and Huening Kai share another look.

"Maybe you weren't ready for a relationship and that question scared you... " Soobin gives Taehyun a side hug. "If you explain that to him, he'll surely understand."

"He won't. And I'm not sure I want to face him any time soon. He hates me. Now I have two people avoiding me in that stupid team...

Taehyun doesn't finish his sentence because he is cut off by the loud screams of the crowd. There was only one minute left till the end of the game and Eunwoo's team had the ball. It was obvious who was going to win since their team had an advantage of 20 points, however, that didn't stop Beomgyu from making one more. Running for his life, Beomgyu forgets about his dislike for Eunwoo and seeks contact with him, sending him a glance that pretty much explained his next move. Eunwoo, predicting he is about to be blocked by a taller player, throws the ball quickly across the field to Beomgyu's hands, trusting him to make a good performance. After calculating the right moment, Beomgyu takes two steps and marks one last point before the siren rings.
