"What's wrong?"
Beomgyu's soft voice tries to force its way inside Taehyun's ears, but the latter doesn't hesitate to block it right away, pretending to be too focused on caressing Beomgyu's black hair between his fingers to elaborate a proper (and believable) excuse for his quiet behavior. They were currently on the older's bed, Taehyun lazily sitting between Beomgyu's legs, his hands still glued to his hair while the older simply hugged him by the waist, calmly enjoying Taehyun's gentle touch. However, Taehyun's unusual silence was more than enough to make Beomgyu worried.
"Taehyun," Beomgyu calls again, and Taehyun just hmms, ignoring the older's intense stare. "Is everything okay?"
He stays still for a second, debating on a nice way to express his feelings, however, after considering the possibilities he chooses to just shake his thoughts away and continue petting Beomgyu's head, the truth winning over his cheap excuses. "I'm just tired. My week has been terrible."
Beomgyu nods and observes Taehyun's posture: he looks tired. He observes how his eyes narrow a little every time he says a long sentence and how his hands lose pace while caressing the back of his neck for too long. Without thinking twice, Beomgyu puts his hand on the back of Taehyun's head and leans it forward, making Taehyun's face gently collide with his chest while his free hand embraces him in a warm hug. "Why's that?"
Taehyun hates how Beomgyu's soft voice makes his stomach feel funny. "Because..." He gives in and lets his body fall in Beomgyu's embrace, finally accepting that a little bit of cuddling wouldn't hurt."I don't even know where to start..."
"It's okay," Beomgyu buries his face in the hollow of Taehyun's neck, his next words muffled from being too close to his skin. "You can start from the beginning, middle, or the end. I don't mind at all."
"Okay, so..." Taehyun holds back the chuckle that threatens to leave his lips, Beomgyu's throat making vibrations on his neck. "Apart from my usual depressing life, Chanwoo has been coming to the shop every day this week. And it's not like the other times, he just stands there by the door and stares. It's like he's waiting for something to happen, or for me to talk to him. It's weird..."
Taehyun notices how Beomgyu's body gets tensed after he mentions Chanwoo so he takes his hand in his and starts playing with his fingers, as a tactic to distract him. But that doesn't seem to calm Beomgyu at all.
"What time does he usually go?" He asks sternly, and Taehyun regrets telling him that information.
"Like, three pm or so..."
"Do you want me to go visit you at that time so I can teach him a lesson?"
Taehyun tries to change the serious direction of the conversation with an airy laugh. "Teach him a lesson? Don't try to sound so badass when you're clearly a softy."
He watches as Beomgyu's eyes soften and a discreet pout forms on his lips. "A softy? I'm no such thing."
"You've been cuddling with me for half an hour now because I told you I was tired." Taehyun makes a pop sound with his lips, trying to sound uninterested. "You're clearly a softy."
"Shut up," Beomgyu hugs him tightly, his cheek smashed against Taehyun's shoulder. "Do you want me to go or not?"
"It's not necessary. Chanwoo isn't my biggest worry right now..." He whispers the last part, however, Beomgyu hears it perfectly.
"Then what is it?"
"Your friend." Taehyun leans away so he can watch Beomgyu's face as he speaks. "Your friend Mingi is in my chemistry class."
