Ginny's POV
Over the following year Harry and Ginny kept an eye on Hermione. She was due to have a Baby very soon, and she wasn't applying to the ministry for the auror position she had pre-registered for.
Ginny had been working hard to try to find out what had happened to her. Harry had too but he had also been doing all the running around getting Hermione to appointments, appointments Ron was supposed to bring her to but was apparently too tired or too busy to do.
"I GOT IT" Ginny said, jumping up from her office desk and running out to find Harry who should have just dropped Hermione back home after her latest appointment. "12 Grimmauld Place" she yelled into the fireplace as she threw down floo powder, with a burst of green flames she travelled to the home she shared with Harry. The home left to Harry by Sirius when he died.
"I got it! Harry, I found it!" She shouted just as he came in through the fireplace. "It was this potion!" She handed him a page she had copied from the book she had been researching.Draco's POV
The last year had been difficult in so many ways. Draco was still battling his depression, but he hid it from most people. His mum and best friends knew, but that was it. At one point he'd been consumed with the need to do anything other than deal with his thoughts. At first he'd turned to alcohol. Blaise had quickly put a stop to that when he'd come to work drunk one morning.
While he and Pansy had suggested talking to someone, he refused. He didn't want to have to explain everything and since most therapists were muggles, how would he explain the war? How would he explain his part or anything about it? No. That wouldn't work. Finally, he decided to bury himself in his work. It started as a coping mechanism, but soon he remembered something Hermione had once told him. She'd told and showed him he could do anything he wanted as long as he worked hard and focused.
That's when everything changed. In three months Draco doubled the amount of products they were making for wizards and muggles alike. He tripled the amount of business they had and suddenly he had purpose. It was also an excuse to be away from Astoria more since she nagged worse than his father ever had. She wanted his attention all the time as though he wasn't the only one providing for them. She didn't want his mother around, but her parents seemed to always be in his home. He was sick of it and it caused him to spiral. The few times he was home before she went to sleep, she tried to coax him into having sex with the reminder of what would happen if they didn't produce an heir.
It took 3 months after their "wedding night" for him to notice she was acting strange. Soon after, he found out she was pregnant. He began working from home to make sure she was okay. He didn't want anything to happen to his child.
He looked up from his computer when he heard a knock on his door. "Mate I haven't seen you smile like this in a while. Did something happen?"
He grinned at Blaise. "Scorp was so happy this morning when I left. I can't wait to get home and see him."
His friend laughed. "I'm happy to say that my godson seems to be more powerful than anyone I've ever met." At Draco's confused expression, he continued. "Dray, that kid has brought you back to life. I've watched you spiral and struggle to understand why things have happened to you. I told Cissy I would do this when the time was right and we both thought it would be our final year at Hogwarts, but I think now is the right time."
"Mate what the hell are you rambling about?"
Just then Pansy walked in pushing a double pram and he laughed when he saw Cristiano fast asleep while Scorpius was wide awake, trying to take in everything. He got up and hugged his other best friend. "Pans, why do you have Scorp?"
She hugged him back and kissed his cheek. "Well, your so-called wife couldn't deal with his crying according to her, but Dray, I have to be honest. I don't trust her. When I went to get my godson, she was in the sitting room with a bunch of other women while poor Scorpy was crying in his nursery. I went to get him and he was soaked. That's not all though. When I went to change him, I noticed bruises and they were from someone squeezing his little body." She said all of this as she picked the child up and handed him to his father.
"Hey buddy. Are you having fun with Aunt Pansy and Cris?" He gurgled happily. To only be 3 months, his son seemed to understand. "Thanks, Pans. When you're done hanging out for the day, do you think you can take him to my mother? I've noticed a few things off at home lately myself and I don't want him there tonight."
She nodded quickly just as Cris began to fuss. Taking him out of the pram, she bounced him, but he continued to fuss and soon started to cry, so Blaise tried. Finally Draco grabbed one of Scorp's bottles he kept in his office in the mini fridge and heated it. "Try this." The moment the baby had the bottle, he was fine. Both parents looked at him trying to figure out how he knew. He shrugged. "That was his 'I'm hungry' cry."
Pansy laughed. "Who would've thought you'd be so good with babies."
"Your husband was just telling me that my son saved me, but I think it was my godson as well."
After they all had lunch that Pansy had gotten from his favorite restaurant, she took the boys to the park. Blaise smiled. "Dray, here. You're mum asked me to give you this when I thought you really needed it and I think you'll need what's in that book before you confront Astoria."
He looked at the title. "How to control and understand your veela side? Blaise Astoria isn't a veela." He chuckled.
"No, but you are. Your father is and it's why Cissy asked me to keep an eye on you our last year. I saw the first signs then, but it seems to be getting stronger." With that, he left him alone to think.
By the time Draco decided to call it a day, he hadn't gotten much more done. His mind was on what Blaise was saying. He skimmed the book until he found a chapter about mating. According to the book, he would feel disgust if he had sex with anyone who wasn't his mate. He might not be able to finish. The first time he'd had sex with Astoria, he puked after from a deep feeling of revulsion. He didn't understand it then of course, but now he did. There had been a few times since then where she found her release, but he couldn't. Not with her. He decided to keep reading.
Hermione's POV
"Ron sweetie," she said, getting up and moving to her husband. "I'm gonna make your favourite for dinner. Chicken and chilli fried rice. Did you want any dessert?"
Ron smirked and put his hand on her butt. "I think some cheesecake would be nice."
Hermione nodded. "I'll go to the store for the ingredients right now." She kissed him deeply before turning and heading out the door.
Ron chuckled as she left and called, "Pick up some firewhiskey while you're out."
"OK hunny."Ginny's POV
After telling Harry everything she had learnt she realised there was only one person who could help them. Without a word to her husband she apparated into the office of the one man who could save Hermione.
Thankfully the blonde was at his desk when Ginny appeared "Hermione's in trouble!"
