Chapter 25

“Are we all set now?” the middle-seat-judge asked. "If yes, then can I request the attorney of the both partys to step forward?" he added.

"Yes, Your Honor!" Attorney Collins and Attorney Quinn answered in unison.

"As we start our court session today, I'm expecting you both to do your best. You may not be in the same page but you can still work in line of your job description. To uncover the truth and let the justice prevail," the middle-seat-judge paused as he eyed both of the judges to warn them to not do stupid things.

"I'm rooting for the both of you. Together, let's solve this case and finally put an end to it..." he announced.

Citizens were all gathered around to witness how the court will give its conviction.

This case was long overdue, a lot of people lives got tangled with this case and ended up being framed up and worst, killed.

As a public court servant, their aim is to let the people live in peace. Not to be anxious everyday of what danger could be waiting for them in the very corner of the ally.

Scary how the life of individuals ended in just a flash and a simple snap of a finger. It makes living hard.

"...Today's court trial will determine the life of defendant, whatever the result may be will either bring him chaos and will cause his downfall or will save his life. Either way, both sides should be reasonable and speak only the truth and nothing but the truth. Let us begin!" he followed.

"Mr. Bernardo Debunker was murdered last month and the cause of his death is still a mystery to all of us. Was he killed intentionally or unintentionally?" Attorney Collins asked mysteriously, causing the crowd to wonder what's really happened, of what's really going on.

"Was he really the target or was he mistakenly killed due to unavoidable situation?" Attorney Collins added.

The citizens started to go haywire, the more Attorney Collins blabber such thing, the more their confusion intensified.

"Objection, Your Honor! The defense attorney is trying to poison the crowds' mind. He is leaving them confuse and bothered," Attorney Quinn objected.

Kanina niya pa napapansin ang pasimpleng ginagawa ni Attorney Grey Collins. For Pete's sake, he was trying to win them over to his side! If it will continue, her, losing the case will be inevitable.

"Objection, Your Honor! I am just letting them understand the situation better. To see things the way I see and perceive them. I want them to question things with me for us to get the answers we needed, altogether. It is our fight towards the truth, anyway," Attorney Collins rebutted, convincing the crowd to follow his lead.

The crowd agreed as they continually nodded their head to take Attorney Collins' side.

"Objection, overruled. Defense, continue," the judge decided after hearing the both sides.

At the end, the judge knew that Attorney Collins makes sense compare to Attorney Quinn. They are both court fighters but he just cannot understand her logic. She's smart and all but she used it for the wrongdoers' advantage. Her logical thinking and reasoning were not put in good used.

"So what I am saying is, we cannot denied the fact that this murder case was not a murder case to begin with. It was not planned out, it is just that something happened and they messed things up, causing someone's death instead of another person. And to make it more convincing, they kidnapped the child to frame up that little innocent child of causing his own grandfather's death. How evil right?" Attorney Collins scoffed.
