He was startled, scared the living hell out of him by the sudden presence, maybe he was too focused on ranting to himself that he didn't even hear his mom knocking on his door before, clutching his hands on his chest

"clean your ears honey, come down dinner's ready"
she let out a playful frown, closing the door
"And oh whoever friend you are whining about, be a big boy and apologize to them"
She chuckled heading downstairs hearing her son whining in his room, the door muffling his words
