It was a hassle to drag Milk Cookie, but finally, Purple Yam managed to get back to their camp. The grumpy cookie plopped Milk in the spot the little cookie was originally in.
After, Yam grumbled off to his own spot and sat down, crossing his arms after doing so.
There was some silence, but Milk Cookie could feel the tension. "Uhm, sorry for running off. Is there anything for me to make it up to you?"
Purple Yam let out a grunt, looking even more irritated, but that angered face eventually turned into a slightly less angered face as the cookie let out a huge sigh. "Just don't run off like that again, or at least don't run off for NOTHING!" He growled.
For nothing? Milk Cookie slightly narrowed his eyes and gripped onto the end of his gown til his hands started to shake a little. He knows what he saw earlier; she was there, and he even had a conversation with her! Milk Cookie wanted to say something to contradict that, but knowing Purple Yam, he won't be so easily convinced.
Milk looked off to the side, letting out a quiet, small huff. "I apologize, I'll make sure not to do that again." He agreed, his voice sounding a little quiet.
With Milk's agreement, Purple Yam leaned back on his log and looked up at the sky, which was now a nice, semi-light blue color. Might as well try to take the moment to resume sleeping.
"GOOD! I'm going back to sleep, DON'T do anything STUPID!" Yam informed before going to sleep, resting his head against the log.
Milk Cookie stared at Yam before looking at the fire. It was almost gone now that nobody has given it more firewood, but Milk just left it alone.
While he was looking at the fire, Milk Cookie suddenly felt a presence nearby. Now on high alert, the cookie looked around, only to see... Pomp Cookie sitting right next to him! Her sudden appearance caused Milk a bit of fright, even causing him to flinch, but nonetheless, Milk Cookie's eyes widened and sparkled; he was happy to see her again!
"Pomp Cookie, there you are! Where were you?"
As soon as he spoke, Milk noticed that she was staring dead at Purple Yam. This discovery was... worrying. Milk frowned and gave Pomp a light poke on the shoulder.
"...Is there something wrong, Pomp Cookie?" Milk asked, his voice now sounding worrisome and quiet.
Pomp slightly looked over at the worried cookie. "Yes, I'm fine." She then looked back at Yam. "Is he always like that?"
"Oh, um, yeah, but, don't worry! It's not all that bad! He's a very angry cookie, but still a good friend!" Milk Cookie smiled.
"I see." Pomp Cookie simply said before narrowing her eyes.
Such a monotonous response... it actually worried Milk Cookie a bit, but he tried not to think much about that. He decided to strike up a conversation, "So, where did you go off--"
Before Milk Cookie could finish what he was saying, Pomp Cookie cut him off.
"How do you put up with him?"
Milk wasn't expecting to still be on this topic, but nonetheless, Milk didn't mind it.
"Um, not sure. I just try to calm him down!" Milk explained.
"Wasn't there a time where you couldn't calm him down?"
Milk raised an eyebrow. It sounded as if the cookie knew what happened between them a month ago, but Milk wiped it off; maybe it was just weird phrasing. Still, it caught the cleric off guard.
"Yes!... Actually!"
Hearing this, Pomp raised one of her eyebrows that were small, red ovular markings.
"Well... recently, Purple Yam and I got into an argument. His outburst was a little too sudden for me to deal with, so all it was just him yelling at me. But, I don't blame him for being so angry that day, it was my fault."
As Milk talked, Pomp Cookie simply listened; she was taking in all of this information, and giving Milk Cookie a few nods here and there.
"Ahh..." She said. Pomp crossed her leg over the other before looking up at the now morning sky, using her wagasa to block out the sunlight coming from behind.
Milk Cookie stared at the other cookie. Now he was baffled, it felt like some sort of tension between Pomp and Purple Yam was going to happen, but... it didn't feel like it there was.
"I don't hate your friend or anything; I'm just a little curious, that's all. If you were wondering. Don't worry, no tension will happen between us."
Yet again, Milk was slightly caught off guard by this. He didn't say anything, didn't he? Regardless, it was nice to know that nothing will happen between Pomp and Yam... Hopefully, that'll last long.
Pomp Cookie gave Milk a little smile; just a bit of reassurance and glad to see the little cookie relieved. Milk Cookie smiled back then leaned back against the log, letting out a small yawn.
"That's great! Anyways, I guess I'll take a little nap. See you in 20 minutes or so!" Milk said before closing his eyes, going to sleep.
"Farewell." Pomp Cookie responded before looking over at Purple Yam. One of his eyes were slightly opened, looking over at the napping Milk Cookie. It's unknown how long this cookie has been eavesdropping, but regardless, the warrior seemed irritated yet puzzled.
Purple Yam sat up. At this point, he was no longer tired, so much things are happening that sleeping doesn't seem necessary now. "Who in the hell..."
He looked around, yet again, seeing nobody but just Milk Cookie again. This was just an infuriating situation... Yam lightly growled, but ultimately, he just decided to let it go, for now.
