Part 2

Milk Cookie was dosing the fire with his milk, making sure even the tiniest ember was nothing but ashes.

Purple Yam wasn't doing much, just hitting his mace against the bark of a tree. He was training, for what exactly? Nothing much, but y'know, the guy has to keep his performance as high as possible for whenever he meets Dark Choco again.

"Phew! Finally!" Milk sighed as he backed away from the put-out campfire. The milk in his jar was completely gone, but he wasn't so worried about that; it'll refill on its own, but sadly, it'll take a while.

Purple Yam looked over at Milk and stopped what he was doing. "FINALLY! You were taking FOREVER!" The brute said as he walked over to the cookie.

"Haha, sorry, Yam! But we can't leave ember behind; the wind might pick it up and a forest fire might start."

Already, Yam was bored by this information. He let out a huge huff before walking off. "YEAH, YEAH, whatever you SAY! Let's GO. The EARLIER we leave, the FASTER we'll find a good checkpoint!"

It was a little rude that Purple Yam dismissed him like that, but it's something that Milk is so used to that he just sighed. Shortly after, Milk Cookie followed Purple Yam, and again, he let Yam lead the way this time.

While they were walking, something popped into Milk's mind: the flower! He looked up at his hat before looking over at Yam.

Although Milk Cookie wanted to give his buddy the flower, he didn't want to straight-up give it to him. It's too beautiful! Maybe a bit of buildup would be nice?

"So, Yam."

Purple Yam slightly looked back at Milk for a little bit before focusing on the path ahead. "HM?"

"Do you like plants? If so, what kind?"

"Does it MATTER? Plants ARE plants, I DON'T have a favorite ONE."

Well, Milk Cookie should've expected this conversation to go down this route; might as well try to hurry this conversation up.

"Well... Yes, plants are plants, I agree! But you really don't like any plants?" Milk dug into his hat, taking out the purple flower that Pomp Cookie gave him. "I'm sure there's one that you like."

Purple Yam crossed his arms; he was starting to get very infuriated by this conversation. "NO, there is NONE that I like! Now stop—"

Before Yam could finish what he was saying, he noticed purple petals popping up right in the center of his face. The petals were rich in their color, enhancing the flower's beauty. Both surprised and a bit fascinated, Yam's eyes lightly sparkled.

"It may not be your favorite, but I have this flower for you, Purple Yam!"

While Milk Cookie was talking, Purple Yam took the flower from him and observed the plant. Saying he was astonished by this would be an understatement, but Yam didn't know how to express his feelings about this nor does he know what he was feeling.

To Milk, it seemed like Yam was captivated by the beautiful flower than being confused. Which made the cookie smile; guess Pomp Cookie was being genuine! "Do you like it? If so, I'm really happy that you do!"

Yam looked at Milk as he spoke before looking back at the flower. A small huff left the brute before he rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, it looks NICE, but it's still a PLANT!"

"Aww, thanks!" Milk just assumed that was supposed to be an agreement. Sounds like it anyways.

Out of the blue, screaming and shouting could suddenly be heard. Confused yet concerned, Milk Cookie snapped his attention over to the direction the sudden loud noises came from. Purple Yam did the same, but before he could react, Milk Cookie's heroism had already kicked in and the little fella was on his way to the source.
