Where does war lead us. Perhaps in the end everything we thought mattered, everything we thought was worth fighting for. Simply isn't. The idea of fighting for a future that we may not even live to see seems less of a heroic ordeal than one built on the fires dragons. And more like, simply what it is. A death sentence.
One that many seem willing to face on the outside. But not many dare to actually proceed with when the bell tolls. Perhaps that in itself is what made Harry Potter so fascinating. There was fight in him. Inside and out. A curly hair, olive skin mess of fight. With eyes gifted to see beyond. And a mind rational enough to take the battles he knew he could win, and suffer through the ones he could not to save someone else.
She shouldn't have gone. But the Hufflepuff friends she had made a few weeks back seemed to trust her enough with the information they were burdened with. And it was time to answer the call as teacher. A title she proudly wore now. One that would have to be stripped from her cold dead hands.
She couldn't bother Severus with this. Not now. He had to keep appearance. His part in this was already settled. He made the potion that paired well with the interrogations. And it had been hard for him to do so. Even now with the inquiry's and rules and gloom that this pink nightmare brought to the world they lived in. It was hard for Severus not to smile. Yes, Severus Smiled. And he smiled like a pathetic moon struck werewolf who had just found his mate. It was hard to be depressing mean ol snake in the dungeon for him now. She wouldn't let him be that anymore. But even she knew, they had to keep up the act.
So now instead of bothering him. She ran with the Hufflepuffs to the courtyard. Only a little too late to do quite much. The sacking of the divination professor had already taken place. And being walked in, for she was too distraught to stand. Carried by the ever iron statue that was Mcgonigall. She paused. Knowing full well that could have been her. That could have been Severus. She was powerless now and powerless then and all she did was stand there with the students and watch her cry.
"oh good." the transfiguration teacher looked up and made eye contact with Viola. Waving her over. Viola's feet seemed to move on their own as she rushed over. This would be one of the rare occasions another teacher has talked to her. But for some reason, the fear of being discovered by the rest of the staff was slowly fading away. Something was much bigger at play here.
She didn't really need to be given directions. A little nod from the elder teacher and she hooked her arms under the disheviled divination professor. Leading her off. As the storm of a woman rushed off to follow the headmaster who stormed in not a moment after.
She silently helped the woman up to her tower. An unspoken magic cast to open the door as she led her through. This part of the castle was unknown to her still. As was many parts still in complete honesty. The woman had calmed down a bit. Choosing to sniffle and hick quietly as she was sat on a pile of cushions.
Viola looked around. The place was a divinationers dream. The decor to the outside viewer was chaotic and cluttered. But to the trained eye, it was filled to the brim with charms and sidgels magical aids for the boosting of divination. One could only describe the room as if one was describing the great howl pendragons room. A defiantly not real wizard who defied magical council and is only spoken about in whispers.
Viola took out her wand and flicked it. Tea started brewing on its own as tea cups danced through the air. Landing on the side table by the woman. Viola sank down to her knees as the tea poured itself. She drank quickly, the confused final sobs of the woman across her quieting as she stared at the leaves of her cup.
Viola smiled as she looked into the void. "Syble Trelawney." she looked up. "that is your name yes?" the woman nodded slowly. Using her scarf as a tissue, wiping her face a moment. "tea leaves are not my favourite form of divination but," she squinted as she gyrated the cup slightly. "ah yes see! The mouse. A humble symbol. But a courageous one. Taking challenges head on, and finding a way around it. And look, beside it. The star. Even in this moment, you will be like the light coming from it. Guiding those who need it most in the right direction."
