They know about the car. They know about the fucking car!  Now, we're supposed to come up with a plan to get rid of it before our asses get arrested.

"We dump it on the side of the road, let the cops do their job," Beth suggested.

Ruby nodded. "Yeah. I mean, they already know it's stolen."

"No one suspects a thing."

"Unless they fingerprint every inch of this car until they get one of ours," I pointed out the little flaw in their plan.

Beth looked at me. "They won't do that."

"If we get a douchebag cop they might."

"Oh, hey! There's an empty parking lot off I-94, you know, by the Chrysler plant," Annie began.

Beth put her seatbelt on. "Yep, that's perfect."

I can't help my leg from shaking. "Oh, sure just dump it in an empty lot," I said.

"What's wrong with an empty lot?" Annie asked as Beth started the car. There was a small ding coming from the dashboard. We looked over to see that the Bluetooth is still on and it's connected to Annie's phone.

I groaned as I leaned back in my seat. "In case someone - I don't know - decided to pair their Bluetooth so their name and all of their contacts are in a car that was reported stolen."

"Ok. So, we can just un-sync it."

I gave her a look. "You can't. It automatically saves it. Unless we torch this car, your information is stuck here."

Annie scoffed as she reached forward. "We can still un-sync it."

Beth shook her head. "No, Dean borrowed my minivan, like, once and it still asks me if I wanna connect to his pocket rocket."

Annie disconnected her Bluetooth. "Look. There. It's wiped. Go ahead. Restart the car. Go ahead."

I looked at Ruby as Beth starts the car. "$5 says she's still connected."

"I'm not making a bet with you," Ruby said. "Mostly because -" The car connected to Annie's phone...again. We gave the sisters a pointed look. "Hmm, yeah."

Annie reached over the dashboard and began messing with it. "Ok. You know, I'm thinking we may just have to reboot the whole thing."

Ruby shook her head. "What are you talking about?"

"Like, the actual hard drive of the actual car."

"I told you, let's torch it," I suggested again. "We break the fuel line. Then one of us gets a match and -"

"We're not blowing up a car!" Ruby shut down my idea. "Especially in the middle of rush hour traffic."

"I'm starting to like the idea," Annie mumbled. She turned to me. "I forgot, which ex taught you about cars? David?"

"Marisol," I answered.

Annie slowly nodded in remembrance. "Oh, yeah. I actually liked her. You still keep in contact?"

I nodded. "Yeah, she's up in Italy with her wife -"

"You guys, what are we gonna do about the car?!" Beth shouted.

"This is a bad idea," I muttered.

The best idea we all could agree on is letting it sink at the bottom of the lake.

"Well, do you got any better ones?" Ruby asked.

"They're gonna find it."

"They won't," Beth reassured me.
