I tried being polite. I tried putting a smile on my face. But it's getting really difficult when Kathy kept yelling at my face because her coffee wasn't hot enough. I needed to make more tips and this bitch really isn't helping.

"How hard is it to make coffee hot?" she yelled.

"I apologize for that," I said. "I'll make you another one."

She glared at me. "Why? So you can make this coffee taste like crap again?" She rolled her eyes before looking around. "Where's Steve? At least I know order can be taken care of."

I felt my eye twitch. I imagine grabbing her neck and bashing her head against the counter. She tried using a $5 off coupon from Target and said that it's for a free coffee. Bitch, no it isn't. I know she's trying to play the system.

"Steve's off," I said.

She threw her hands up. "Can't you idiots do anything right?" Idiots? Because she can't use another coupon for a store. I just want to slap her.

"Whoa. Whoa. There's no need for the name calling," I heard. I froze. It was the guy from Beth's house. He had a little smirk on his face as he looked at me. His eyes went towards Kathy. "She's just trying to do her job."

"She's doing a sucky job," Kathy sneered. "I have a coupon that says I get a free coffee and she can't even get it right."

The guy grabbed the coupon from the counter. His brow raised before looking at the lady. "Well, you must be mistaken. This is a coupon from Target."

"No, it's not. I'm the customer and the customer is always right."

"Not for all circumstances, like this one. So you owe this young lady some money."

"I owe her," she sneered as she looked at me. I tried not to smirk.

The guy nodded. "Well, this isn't a coupon for this store. And I'm sure you don't want to get kicked out of here." Kathy glared at him. "You can't get any other coffee the way they serve it."

"I don't have to listen to you." She snatched the coupon from his hands. "I'll go to Starbucks instead."

The guy and I looked at Kathy walked out. I sighed in relief once she left. "Thank, God."

The man pointed at Kathy. "You have to deal with that every day?"

I nodded. "Yeah." Then I remembered who he is and backed up. "Look, we're gonna get your money. Please, don't kill me. I don't want to die at work."

He chuckled before leaning against the counter. "Why would I do that? I can't just come in for coffee. Looks like I came just in time though."

I gulped. "Ye - Yeah. Thanks for that."

He smirked. "I know how it feels when people cheat their way out of your money." I could feel the double meaning behind it. I glanced down. The gun poking out of the waistband of his jeans.

"We're gonna get your money back," I rambled on.

"I sure hope so." He grabbed the coffee on the counter, the one Kathy left behind. He took a sip. "Don't know why the bitch is complaining."

"Because that's how she is."

The man slowly nodded. He pulled something out of his pocket before placing it in the tip jar. "There. Now, you owe me less." He winked at me before leaving the store.

My chest was beating frantically before I looked in the tip jar. My mouth almost flew open when there was $100 bill in there. What the hell just happened?
