Our asses might be saved after all! I don't really like the idea of stealing from Boomer's granny since she's a sweet old lady, but when our lives are threatened we've got no other choice. She when Annie showed us the other figurines she took, you bet your ass I hugged her. Hell, I even laid one on her.

Now, we were just waiting for the guy to count his stupid money and leave. I could go back to my stupid regular job and that's it. No more robberies. No more threatening people with fake guns. One of the henchmen was 'counting' the money. He was literally flicking the bills to see if it was heavy enough. I still don't know how they do that but I tried to keep my face as calm and collective as possible. So when the guy looked at the big honcho and shook his head, I tried not to show how scared I am.

"You're short," the guy said.

"No, we're not," Annie responded with her head shaking.

"Yeah, you are."

Annie pulled out the box with the figurines. "Actually, we're over." She began taking them out one by one. "See, these are super rare collectibles."

"Treasures," Beth added.

"Yes. Sister, you're correct. That's a better word for these because these super rare treasures go for ten to fifteen Gs on eBay. How much legwork is there, right? But the truth is, it's very little. Because we have done the lion's share of the work for you." She looked at Ruby. "Ruby?"

Ruby cleared her throat before sliding the paper over to him. "These are the usernames and passwords for our eBay accounts. Plus, auction tips to maximize your profits."

The guy clearly wasn't impressed by this. "You want me to sell your dolls," he stated.

"Not just any dolls," I said. "Collectables." The guy looked at me. "You wanted your money back...you really didn't specify on the how." I motioned to the figurines. "Now you've got it." I looked at Annie. "Tell him about Hans."

Annie grinned. "Ooh. Our little drummer boy," she began. "The pride of Hamburg." She pushed the drummer boy towards him. "You see, Hans here is one of only 12 in the entire -" I nearly jumped from my seat as the guy brought his fist up and broke the little drummer boy. "11 in the world."

The guy began rubbing his chin. "This some kind of joke to you?" Annie shook her head. "I'm done playing with you guys."

When he walked away the two goons began breaking everything. The tossed Beth's nice plates to the ground, breaking it. One flipped the dresser over while the other knocked the display case down. I jumped from my seat as more glass began breaking while the guy just sat casually on the couch.

"What are they doing?" Annie cried.

"They're making it look like a home invasion," I answered as I wrapped my arm around Beth, who was crying.

"So they can kill us," she gasped out.

"Please don't do this," Ruby begged.

"Wait. Please, wait! We can get you the money! I swear, please!" Annie shouted after. My eyes widened when one of the goons pulled a gun out and began loading it.

"We have families. We have kids. Please!"

My instincts kicked in. The guy made his way over to Beth and I stood up and went in front of her. My eyes went towards the gun that was right at my face. Ruby hugged Annie from behind and continued to plead for our lives. The guy pointing the gun at my face looked at his boss waiting for the order to shoot. Beth gripped my hand from behind as I glared at the boss. I don't care if I'm crying. I don't care if there's a gun pointed at my fucking face. No one is going to shoot my friends!
